Prusty most certainly dived. He was lightly shoved, then about a week later he flew to the ground like he stepped on a land mine.

I think Prust was going to dive and then tripped over the net. Double Dive!

They haven't won a playoff series since winning the Cup in 2010. They are too top heavy and lack depth. The Rangers need to be careful in what they do this summer with the CBA expiring in 3 plus months. Look at the Hawks team which won the Cup and the current team. The top guys can be shut down in the playoffs. Improve the roster from #1-#23. Make sure you have enough $ to re-sign your own players with cap not increasing from the current $64.3M upper limit.
The reason the Hawks lost those players is because Dale Tallon and his management staff forgot to send in proper paperwork on the RFA's they had making them UFA's. They had to be signed to bigger, longer term contracts because of that. Then when the cap didn't go up enough for them to keep those players, pay their top players, and sign depth guys to help their other lines, they had to decide on who to cut ties with.

Luckily, Sather has been VERY good with the RFA's since the lockout, especially 2nd contracts for players after their ELC. Del Zotto (just over 1M Cap), Stralman (900k), and Zuccarello (1.75M) are RFA's. Del Zotto should get a contract similar to what Anisimov got (1.8-2M), Stralman a slight pay raise (1.4M) and Zuccarello might leave or take something similar as well (1.75M).

There is a strong possibility that next year's team has 3 rookie players on it (Kreider, Erixon, and Thomas/McIlrath). Kreider has at least shown he can play a top 9 role and be on the PP. Erixon is no doubt better than Stu Bickel, Steve Eminger, Jeff Woywitka, etc. Obviously all those players are cheap regardless of being a rookie or the fillers on the roster, but the potential better games you'll get are much greater.

I also believe that signing a player like Ryan Smyth/Shane Doan would be better for the Rangers than going after Parise for the simple fact you made above. You have to have cap room to sign the players you want to keep and improve depth for the team. Ryan Smyth will not be as good of a player as Zach Parise, but he'll come cheaper, score some dirty goals, provide veteran leadership, and be gone before the young players become too expensive to pay.

I believe that if Prust-Boyle-Feds is this teams 4th line next season that it would mean they have the forward depth to make a cup run. We're 2/3rd's of the way their with Dubi being back and Kreider coming on. Just need one more guy to come in and take the spot anywhere in the top 9 forwards.

I don't want him playing unless he's very close to 100% but there's no doubt he'd both help get the PP set up, and help us make a play to score a goal on it.
I agree with the bolded above, however when MZA was used on the Power Play, at no point was he utlized in the way you mentioned (to take the puck into the zone or lead the pass into the zone). Maybe he had done that in the AHL or SEL, but at no point did I see that on display or utilzed by the Rangers PP at this level.

Oh and remember game 5 against Ottawa where they played much better than they did in games 3 and 4 but still lost? That's kind of how I feel right now. Best game of the series and they lost, but hope they can carry the offensive momentum and fix the defensive issues they had. Rangers have to win a road game. They were good at it all season, so why stop now.

I noticed something that i wanted to throw out here.

Whenever we think the team will lose (most of us) or if we go down early in the game and the Rangers board starts to put on their suicide boots and the negativity skyrockets, the Rangers start playing better. Last game was negativity galore after being down 3-0. Then the Rangers climbed back in with less than dubious looking goals, but back in nonetheless. Then we start to feel better and feel like the Rangers actually might have this. Then 2 quick goals to finish us off.

My point is:

We're gunna lose, this team sucks, i hate Torts

This still hurts, very badly. I have tickets to Game 7 and I'll of course be watching tomorrow, but this game is going to sting for a long long time.

Maybe you missed a game or two? Not trying to sound like a jerk. I just definitely remember MZA making a few nice lateral passes at the blue-line to help us calmly gain the zone and set up. Doesn't mean he'd be able to transform our disaster PP into the Red Wings, but I think if he's healthy, he's one of the best options we have as a guy to settle down and help quarterback the PP.

Even if we come back and win this series. The Rangers would have played 21 games overall. That's a lot and we could be gassed against the Kings.

It doesn't matter. Losing to the Kings is extremely preferable over losing to the Devils.

Torts pretty much guaranteed that Richie and Hank will have their best games of the postseason tomorrow. I feel good with those 2 guys to lean in an elimination game. Let's do this!
