Pittsburgh Magazine piece on Hines Ward by Sean Conboy.

"Jerome Bettis, Levon Kirkland — those guys gave up a lot of their free time to give back in the community," Ward says. "I learned a lot from watching them. I'm going to stay in the light in the Pittsburgh communities. I want to give back to a city that’s given me so much."

"You know, I came into this league as a third-round guy, and now, people are debating whether or not I'm a Hall of Famer. I've caught 80-yard touchdowns. I ran with one of the fastest guys in the league, DeAngelo Hall, with one shoe on. To me, all I ever wanted when I left the game was for people to say, 'He was one hell of a football player.'"
I guess this game isn't being televised? I saw on ESPN they were playing, but when I changed the channel to Root Sports, it was soccer.
I got to watch it locally on SNY which covers Mets games. Mets announcers spent a lot of time talking about how the Pirates have the worst bats in the league and they're on pace for a dubious record of strikeouts to walks ratio. They then heaped praise on Searage and the pitching.
The Pirates really do have gawdawful hitters. They're really bad. Cutch had a rough day by his standards, which would qualify as a pretty good day for anybody else on the team and the Pirates couldn't do anything without him. He drove in the only run.
I just like the idea of having a 6'9" 260lb former wideout, a 270lb beast with deep seam speed and Heath Miller as the team's tight ends. With that group, some of those Arians 3 TE sets would actually make sense.
I think Pope will be one of the 3 Tight Ends, he's a Todd Haley player, played for him in Arizona and Kansas City, I think it will be Miller, Pope and Saunders then maybe the following season it will be Miller, Saunders and Lyons.
He just seems like the perfect Tight End for this team. When Todd Haley got the job he said he was very intrigued on what he could do with Heath Miller, and adding Pope gives Haley 2 nice TEs to work with, 3 or 4 including Saunders and/or Lyons. I think adding Pope is huge, he can block and be a red zone target.
Pope already knows Haley and the way he runs his offense, he can help guys like Saunders and Lyons get adjusted.
Apparently we traded Hanrahan and cash. Is it real?
no i dont think its real. When is the last time Wikipedia broke anything? Twitter would have been all over it first and the only thing theyre all over is saying its fake.
I mean I'm not going to come out and say definitively that its not but ANYONE can write ANYTHING on wikipedia and it stays there until someone realizes its not true haha.
