I love me some Kopecky... believe that. His effort level was great, but the captain is the captain. The next shift he takes off will be his first.
Not saying Toews ever takes a shift off, but I don't remember a single time kopecky ever didn't look like he was giving 150%. He played like he thought he was a borderline NHL'er and the second he let up a little, he would be benched.
It's because it wasn't that far from the truth. I've said it before, but Kopecky was the single most difficult player to define I've ever seen lace up skates for Chicago. He'd look "ok" in any role he performed. Fourth line grinder? Decent. First line left wing? He looked alright.
