I don't think he played that badly in game 5. His defense left Gionta all alone on the first one. Second one was a pinball redirection off Stralman's skate. Third one was a snipe low blocker side by Trav. I think fans were so spoiled by stellar play that they think he can stop high difficulty shots at all times. There is some luck involved as well. In game 3, Sykora was an inch or two from scoring. In game 5, the breaks didn't go Henrik's way.
Lundquist apologist.
If he's great he stops (most of) those. If not, he doesn't. The failing of the butterfly goalie, and this one in particular, is evident. The style leads to more top shelf shots while placing the player in a disadvantageous position for those shots.
That means you have to be a better athlete with better reflexes waist up, this one is not.
At one end of the ice we have a world class athlete. At the other end a 30 something Euro dude that drops to his knees.
And we all know he is not actually Swedish royalty. Just like we all know that among the dozens of Swedish players he is the only one that wears the King title. Own it, live it.
The Devils have 17 players with three or more points over the course of the playoffs, and one of them is their goaltender.
Man on a mission.

Impressive as well, but not really shocking.
For all their talent, the Rangers don't have that 'next gear' that depth like our 4th line provides. Unreal run we're on.

Devils need to break Lundqvist early again. Don't let him get into a rhythm, because then he will stone us. He wants to atone for his dreadful performance in the last game, and we cannot let him do that.
