Mckeen's top 10

McKeen's top 10 as of today:

http://blogues.lapresse.ca/lnh/2012/...selon-mckeens/

small article in french with nothing really relevant but here are the top 10. Good to see Grigorenko actually not going top 3, more and more people are starting to realize that he isn't a top 5 player this year. I wouldn't even take him at 10. IMO these are the best top 10 rankings and will most likely be the closets match to the end result.

1-Nail Yakupov
2-Alex Galchenyuk
3-Filip Forsberg
4-Ryan Murray
5-Teuvo Teravainen
6-Matthew Dumba
7-Griffin Reinhart
8-Morgan Rielly
9-Mikhail Grigorenko
10-Jacob Trouba

Nope. He works for the Chicago Steel now.

He was with Janesville in the NAHL for a while IIRC.

Seems to reflect their current stock of both pretty well, though.

Hmmm, in a wide open draft, I can say I have the same top 5 as McKeen's.

Surprised a certain Leaf fan has not come in here yet to tell us all how Grigorenko's ranking is a sham.

Why, what's the deal with Grigorenko to cause this sudden fall?

Some are questioning his intensity and compete level.

It is. I don't think Burke would draft him if he fell to 5 unfortunately but I would be ecstatic if he did.

Yes, but why? And why is it suddenly causing such a fall? Surely that is not something that has suddenly become apparent over the past few weeks? The guy's been playing with mono. after all.

Scouts often get caught up in a prospects fall. See Sean Couturier last year. Was once thought to be a first overall pick like Grigorenko but then question about being lazy (he too, played through mono) and being a poor skater dropped him all the way to 8.

There is also the Statment from the KHL that they will be going hard to bring him home, This with the potential work stoppage from the CBA negotiations make him a flight risk that some teams will think twice about. Hence is why Kirill Petrov whom was ranked in the top 10 talent wise in the '08 draft fell to the third round as he already had a KHL contract.

Hm, are the agencies factoring flight risk into their rankings?

Its amazing that a 160ish pound dman is ranked above a 200 pound skilled forward.
