Dominik Hasek eyeing NHL comeback

http://prohockeytalk.nbcsports.com/2...-nhl-comeback/

Quote:
Here’s Friedman, via Twitter:

Zdenek Matejovsky of Czech station TV Nova showed me an article from newspaper “Daily Sports” indicating Dominik Hasek is in N. America and wants a return to the NHL. Hasek: “For sure, I know what I want…even my agent, he knows…but I’m not going to make any comments.”

That quote is translated to me by Zdenek.

So? He played good in the KHL and a team can surely take a chance on him as a back up.

Dominik Hasek May Return to the NHL

Quote:
It seeks hockey goalie Dominik Hasek to return to the NHL? Sedmačtyřicetiletý goalie reportedly planning another comeback, and his clear priority is the Canadian-American competition, where he headed after four years.
http://hokej.idnes.cz/hokejovy-brank...092239_nhl_par

The gist of it is he has a son playing in the US? and he wants to be closer and he was already staging a comeback.

I don't see a quote like that in the article. In fact, I see nothing from Hasek to confirm the speculation. Because I'm too lazy, here's Google Translate of his quotes from the article:

Quote:
"The plans I had in mind last year, nothing has changed. But at the moment I have nothing ahead of what I'd wanted to. So I wait and see. I see it, probably in June that will decide "Hasek told Sport newspaper. In recent weeks the overseas person, even if the main official reason was to visit a son who is studying in the U.S..
Personally, I have decided, however, Hasek, and set clear priorities, the public does not want them to talk. "I think it is better to know only the two sides, and that's enough. Not appropriate now to publish something," said Hasek, who during a career break to keep fit. In the event that agreed on a new contract is ready to start full training.
The first part of the quote, he refers to his possible comeback to the Czech league (on which there's been articles for a while). I'm confused as to how they came up with the NHL thing.

From what I can tell this is all based on him flying to the US to visit his son.

Not sure there's a single team in the NHL who would take this seriously. Maybe at the NHL minimum as a tutor to young players, but even then....I doubt it.

Leafs are looking for a veteran goalie... They'll nab him.
