I hope Zucc wont waste another year or two in Rangers. Too much crap has been priored before him. You can blame it on how the Rangers play and is not suitable for him but I hope he does not resign under any circumstanses. He has lost his selfconfidence and motivation under Torts. You dont have to be a brainsurgent to understand that.

Put him in for Rupp.

Hagelin-Richards-Gaborik
Dubinsky-Anisimov-Callahan
Zuccarello-Stepan-Kreider
Prust-Boyle-Feds

Offensive punch with a couple lines that can shut down the opponent. That or put Mitchell in for Rupp. Anybody but Mike Rupp at this point in time. He's slow and isn't contributing on the ice.

huh?
he's getting to plenty of pucks. Hags and kreider are arguably the only ones getting to pucks at this point. Shame he cant finish at all and has hit a bunch of posts but its definately not a matter of beating players to pucks.

as to the discussion at hand, i absolutely sit rupp in a heartbeat. Even if he ony plays the minutes rupp plpays and the PP, its an upgrade hands down. Dont forget zucc seems to be one of the very few players gabby seems to play well with. I say give the kid a jersey Rupp has done NOTHING to deserve keeping his spot.

If he wants to play in the US, he'll have to, as the Rangers are sure to give him a qualifying offer, and therefore retaining his rights.

That said, the NHL is where he has stated umpteen times that he wants to be, its not about the money for him (he would have made tons more anywhere in Europe).

He is also very dedicated and diciplined, so i dont think he has any motivational problems. We'll see (provided that he'll get the chance of course, which in itself is a big if).

He was playing well and making a difference before his injury. Torts had benched Feds and put Zooks on the 3rd line. I did not see Zooks losing his motivation.

Rupp can be saved for next preseason.

I think you need to put zucc out there. I love rupp, thought he was great in game 4 but we simply desperately need more offense, especially on the PP. Put him on the 4th line so he is not overworked.

I agree , throw him in the lineup as Dubi has improved the forecheck enough to make Rupp available as a spare . We need some goals .

A new article in a Norwegian newspaper today about Zucc/Rangers :

http://translate.google.com/translat...89.ece&act=url

Poor Brandon Prust gets many funky translations for his name.. first it was Brandon Prussian.... today its Brandon Snort

I think its a stupid move. Think he should be out there on the 4th line and getting PP time tonight. Hope I'm wrong.

I agree, thought Zucs would be out there tonight.

You think its because Torts thinks he is to big of a defensive liabilaty?

It could be that. He is very small and this series has gotten more physical as it has gone. But even aside from the extent of the physicality, from the moment this series has started there have been constant battles along the boards. Battles Zucc might lose and Rupp would probably win. I think thats what it comes down too.

Yeah, good point on him being a small and he could lose a big battle that Rupp would win and he would possibley lose.

I want Zuke as part of this team for next yr and heck this yr but I understand why they would go with the same lineup while sitting Mitchell

2nites lineup will be close to next yrs. Only thing I see different is Feds out/ Zuke in and they likely look to sign Parise and if that works they move Dubinsky

Dubinsky(Parise next yr?) Richards, Gaborik
Kreider, Stepan, Callahan
Hagelin, Anisimov,Fedotenko(Zuccarello next yr)
Rupp, Boyle, Prust (re-sign)
Mitchell ( ine as a cheap spare)

The problem with Zuccarello is he's a defensive liability. Sure he helps the PP but the Devils would kill him on the boards.

His size is a problem.

he pries pucks off the boards like no other. he may not be able to keep them there all game, but he's not THAT bad. he blocks shots as well as anybody. picks lanes well and his offense is good enough to make up for his handful of defensive issues. he's physical as hell(and doesn't hit like st.louis, actually knocks guys down). shame this kid didn't fit here because if he goes anywhere else in the league he's going to soar.
