I have been wondering about the J.D situation since St. Louis has announced there new ownership. I was going to a thread on it & I never got around to it.
I would love to have J.D back in here in some way shape or form. It doesnt have to be broadcasting. He has dine such a good job with St. Louis I think he would be a better fit upstairs with occasional visits to the booth of course.
I doubt he would play second fiddle to Sather at this point.
JD as our assistant coach to replace Suckivan would be OUTSTANDING. Such a great hockey mind, and an eloquent speaker.
I don't see J.D as the type of guy who would want to coach. It's a daily grind & it's not the same type of lifestyle as a broadcaster. Sure the travel is the same but the responsiblities are much more intense.
JD leaving the announcing booth was a very happy occasion for me. He seemed to forget he was supposed to be announcing the game and not telling personal stories. I can't believe you all like him that much.
I would love nothing more than for JD to be a fixture within the organization again. I grew up with him and Sam practically as members of my household, they are as much a representation of the Rangers franchise to me as guys like Richter, Leetch, Messier, etc.
JD and Sam in the booth, Micheletti between the glass? Other teams use the 3rd man between the booth for local broadcasts so why cant we?
That would be a good idea. I have grown up with Sam and JD but have grown to a likening of Micheletti over the past 2 years. I think he would do a better job in between the glass and having JD back with Sam would be heaven. Micheletti would love it he would have the best seat in the house.
