The Debs are coming out of their end with ease. They make that 20 foot pass, there's always a Devil there, the pass is always to the stick blade, and they move it quick. They don't try to stickhandle it, they make the next pass out to the next guy.
It's obvious that they practice this, and it is working like a charm.
They are coming out cause we have one of our D men deeper than all three of our front guys.
Sucks when you're the best team in the league for the regular season (okay actually 2nd best, but we had the most regulation and overtime wins) and you get bounced by a team that wouldn't have even made the playoffs if they had half as many shootout wins, but hey that's the playoffs. A not so good team that gets hot can make it all the way. Anyway, this series turned when the Rangers couldn't win game 2. That would have been huge if we could have held onto that lead in game 2.
I guess we need goals from Gaborik, Callahan, ect.
Even if we don't win, most teams need legitimate runs to preempt the big thing. Hard to go from a 5 game 1st round exit to the SCFinals.
This is an attempt to find a silver lining.
One really has nothing to do with the other. Sure, experience is great, but if you win the games, you win the games. The Kings didn't make a deep run before steamrolling to the finals this year. They just...won...the..games.
Opponents have figured Hags and Stepan in the playoffs a long time ago - so getting a relativly unknown playmaker who plays with his heart on his sleve, doesn't back down, throws his body around, scores and makes tape to tape passes in dangerous areas can ONLY help at this point..
But Torts didn't wanna dress zuke..
How many times are you going to copy and paste this? No one gives a **** about Zuke.
I sense the season slipping away... I'll try to uncover the post where I said I was wary of facing the Devils as the playoffs rolled on because of their depth, tenacity, and freshness off finishing the Flyers off quickly.
Stop making excuses for MDZ. What happened to his grandparents is rough, I know. But if his head is someplace else he needs to realize this and take himself out. A strong player knows his limits. Not everyone can pull off a Jordan, Favre or Woods.
