Seriously. Kovalchuk is injured, a big solid hit should do the job on him.

damn the season is a lot longer when you make playoffs. Is this what its like for the rest of the hockey world?? usually by this time, I know all about the top 15 prospects in the draft and already picked my favorites. Here's to not knowing anything about the 2012 draft!

GO KINGS GO!

And I agree with other posters that after going through the Canucks, Blues, and Coyotes, it's hard to imagine what Ace in the hole the Devils can have that we won't be able to take on. But, like we all know, they're in the finals for a reason.

Stanley Cup finals imo, is a whole different ballpark. Underestimating the Devils would be the last thing I would do and I am glad that you are not the coach of the Kings and that Sutter is. Sutter has prepared them properly in the past 3 rounds and I am confident that he will do the same this time around. Having the will and hunger to want it more will dictate who wins this series, while talent is just a good thing to have.

Norris trophy-like. His game has been turned up quite a bit this post season. He has been clutch defensively and offensively.

Anyone remember how Zhitnik completely shut down Bure in '93? I think we're going to see a repeat of that, but with Voynov & Kovalchuk.

People are still worried about the Kings underestimating the other team? Why? At this point, has Sutter shown he'll allow the players on this team to do anything but be as ready to go as they can be? The Kings may end up losing the series, but it won't be because they take the other team lightly. That's not even an option on the worry list.

New Jersey is definitely the tougher match up. Stats are pretty similar. Gonna be a hell of a series.

Yeah for sure. I'm just glad that Sutter has these guys ready to go and they won't be underestimating them even a little.

Also: The last team to even take a group pic with the conference trophy ended up not doing so well, while the Kings treated their conf trophy like it was the plague and didn't even take it on the team plane with them. Here's to history repeating.

Another thing/fact: The last three teams to win the cup (Hawks, Pens, Bruins) all started their seasons playing in Europe. DON'T LET US DOWN HISTORY!

The Devils defense held Giroux to 3 points. Yes we aren't full of sexy names but more often than not they get the job done. I expect goals to be a premium for both teams

Devils defense is interesting... All arguably #2-4 guys. No real standout #1 or #6.

The forechecking battle will be interesting. Both teams play a similar style in that regard.

You mean the Giroux that is now wearing casts on both arms due to surgery?

This is going to be a tough F-ing series and anyone who thinks it'll be easy is very mistaken. NJD are a good team with experience. They have a great forecheck and puck possession, combined with some very nice finishers. Not to mention their goalie is a flippin voodoo goalie god with multiple cups.
This will be no walk in the park.

GO KINGS GO

NJ is super good.. Exactly the team I wouldn't want to face. I really really hope the Kings do their HW on this one.

Peter Harrold is a #4? He's a 6/7 at best. I would take Martinez over him in a heartbeat.

Before the playoffs started my mom said Kings will verse the Devils in the finals. I laughed my ass saying, "pffft, if we get pass the first round...sure." After the Devils won, she gave me that "i told you so look" She doesn't know much about the Eastern teams, so it's even more freakier that she was right.

I wish i knew about her "psychic" abilities sooner, I could have bet on it or something.

Anyone else worried that the Kings pro-scout for the eastern conference was Terry Murray?

Let's all rejoice that Tortorella is out. I was sick of the Tortorella show a month ago.

again, not trying to underestimate them, but in all honesty, if I had to rank our opponents, I'd probably put the devils as the least terrifying of the bunch. Anything can happen in a 7 game series and they're here for a reason, but if I had to stake our bets against Vancouver, Blues, Phoenix (with the hot goaltender), or the Devils, I'd take the Devils any day of the week.
