Devils fans are really confident for a team that won the defenseless goalieless flyers, the panthers...., and the offenseless and bad goaltending rangers. pretty sad.

I need to relax and leave this for the games :p. I dont want to sound like a homer lol.

Yes. YOU DO! Ever heard of Peter Harrold?

Next week, we're gunna show the Devils exactly why we felt he was expendable!

Exactly.

Our top 6 is better than their top 6, our bottom 6 is better than their bottom 6, and our D is better than theirs by at least 3 to 1.

Seriously. Volchenkov and Salvador have both been great but the thought of Harrold or Zidlicky out there against big ******** like Penner, Kopitar, King and Brown is pretty salivating. I like this matchup

Everyone listen:

NOTHING FROM THE PREVIOUS 3 SERIES' MATTERS!!! It's a 7 game series where anything can happen. I appreciate everyone's opinion on what they think will happen, but none of them matter. All that matters is how the Kings play in the next 7 games. Everything in the past is irrelevant. Ask Vancouver.

You can't really blame them, they did make it to the Finals as well. What I don't get is their inferiority complex despite the fact that they have already won multiple Cups. Marty has more than his fair share, no need to be greedy. Spread the love.

He's 33. Then you have Zidlicky and Sykora who are 35, Elias and Salvador are 36 and Brodeur who is 40. The Kings better work these old fools.

The Kings being rested and being the 2-3 youngest team in the league should definitely be an advantage here.

Also, I'm not picking on Devils fans, but their inferiority complex is kind of sad. My friend says he prefers Canucks superiority complex over it, and I kind of have to agree.

Surprised that Clarkson's name has not been brought up either.. He is one of those guys who shines in the playoffs. A Lucic/Marchand type player who can hit and who seems to be able to score this post-season. That Ponikarovsky-Josefson-Clarkson line will be an interesting 3rd line to go up against King-Stoll-Lewis. Big guys who like to throw their body around. Both lines seem to be contributing on the score sheet a bit too. 3rd/4th line match-ups will be interesting considering that both of these teams have those bottom 9 players chipping in offensively. Let's see if youth could master experience. GKG!

Out of curiosity, I looked up how Carter and Richards performed against the Devils in the playoffs the last time they met them (which was in 2010 when the Flyers beat the Devils in the first round in 5 games).

Richards had 2 goals and 6 assists in 5 games. Carter had 2 goals and 1 assist in 4 games. Simon Gagne also played in 4 games in that series and recorded 2 assists. Hopefully Richards has just as a productive series in their next meeting.

Maybe. But given that the Devils probably have the best 4th-line in all of hockey, isnt that easier said than done?

Again, I think it's pretty close.

In fact, I'd almost be as bold as to say the Devils #5/#6 is better.

Okay, MAYBE that's TOO bold, but at the very least, I think our #5/#6 is pretty similar. Am I wrong?

THIS...

is what frightens me. The LA defense, is SUBSTANTIALLY (read: more than a little bit) better than New Jersey's defense. In every other facet of the game, I think NJ can match or beat LA in talent or experience (which is always underrated), but in D? LA is IMO better.

Kings win this year, then the Blues. That leaves the Canucks as the oldest virgins.

Seeing how often the Devils blew leads should give the Kings some motivation to attack the Devils aggressively as they seem to let up off the gas pedal when they jump ahead. The Rangers seem to rely on some luck to get their goals, throwing pucks from all angles. The Kings just need to sustain the same amount of offensive pressure as they have from the opening round right through the deciding game for the Cup.

I think our top 6 has more offensive/defensive balance, while yours is more potent offensively. I don't watch the Devils that much, so I may be mistaken on that. Defense and Goalie wise, I think Kings win out. Brodeur is not nearly the wall that Smith has been, and he eventually showed strains.

With Doughty stepping up his game even more the last series, I don't think teams can count on their offensive stars shining as brightly anymore. He's come around offensively too, so he's a threat from the point. It'll be interesting to see who steps up this next series as it seems to rotate throughout the team
