Less than 5 min into my first regular season game of Be A GM mode and it's already 3-0 Wild over Columbus. I'm simulating all my games by the way, not playing them. Makes it more realistic. Simulated the rest of the game and it ends 8-0 Wild. Off to a good start. Anyways here's the line-up after a few hours of signing, trading and moving players.
Traded nearly every 2012 draft pick but I also aquired a few good prospects like Smith-Pelly, Etem, Rundblad, Lalonde, and D. Hamilton so I think that makes up for trading away alot of my picks. I didn't trade away and of the good Wild prospects either so my future is bright as well.

I would recommend picking up Nino Niederiter as well as Kirill Kabanov immediately. I have gotten Nino up to an 88 and Kabanov up to a 87 in 4 years. O yea get Adam Larsson and Ryan Ellis and Robyn Lehner. Great potential on these guys. Harmonic is a great pickup got him up to and 88 now. And Lehner he is up to a 93.
That is of course if your in GM mode for the long haul. I traded away all of the former Wild, the only one left on my team is Granlund, Brodin, and Phillips. Granlund has pretty much topped out 84. Brodin on the other hand is already and 84 and still has great potential I bet I can get him to 87. Phillips is an 83 with good potential probably going to lose his potential soon but I think I can get him to 85. I always go with young players with potential I love this ****.

The lowest I've ever seen Granlund top out at is 86, don't know what you did the highest I've seen him is 91, but I got fired from my position the next off season so I got rid of that profile/save/whatever.
Brodin, I've had anywhere from 85 or so up until 92. And I've never gotten Phillips past 80, so I gotta ask how the hell you managed to get him to 83? I've seriously tried 10+ profiles with him and just no dice no matter what I do. Coyle is the same way, never got him above 81. Zucker I can get to be a PPG player but never gets above 82 or 83 IIRC.
Other guys I'd recommend:
Gormley in Phoenix, defender who usually gets to 87-88
Murphy in Carolina, defender who gets to ~86-88
Cowen in Ottawa, defender tops out around 88-90
Schwartz in St. Louis, LW gets up to 86 at least. I've only had him on one profile, and he's an 86 with potential going forward.
Hall (EDM) LW 91-95
Hall (EDM) C 92-96
Yakupov (Draft) LW 89-92.
Landeskog (COL) RW 88-92
Beaulieu(MON) D can get 86-90
Etem(ANA) W 85-88
Kulikov(FLA) D 87-91
Gudbranson(FLA) D 88-92
Siemens(COL) D 86-89
Jake Allen (STL) G 89-93
Stepan (NYR) C 89-92
Skinner (CAR) C 86-89
There is another stud goalie playing for I believe Phoenix or so, but Allen is the only non-random-draft created goalie I've gotten past 86. Jake Patterson shows up 99% of the time in the 2011 draft and I can get to 87 or so.
So to get them to grow into good players do I basically just get them as much ice time as possible? I'm guessing I should just keep em' in Houston for a couple years first.

Yes basically.
But sometimes you have to guess which is better, Houston or Minnesota. Typically, I keep players in Houston until they are around 81-82 or so, then bring them up.
I've also done the cheater way a few times, where you "dress" a full lineup, but you manually go through and make lines 1-4 all the same. I had Hall - Giroux - Eberle as my top line, third line, and fourth line. My second line was Yakupov - Granlund - Landeskog, they were 1st and 2nd powerplay. My PKs were Giroux and Granlund, 4 man powerplay was Giroux and Granlund, etc. Just re-use all the same players. It really REALLY inflates stats for them, like Hall had 70g 45a, Giroux had 50g 80a, and Eberle had 60g 60a. Yakupov ended up with something like 100p, Granlund with 115, Landeskog with like 110. Hall ended up at 97 overall that game, Giroux at 95, Eberle at 96, Yakupov at 94, Granlund at 94, and Landeskog at 95.
However, no one else on the team got any points, even though they "played" 82 games. No one else developed the entire time. Sometimes if you sim too many games in a row they reset your lineups, so I had to go in every 10-15 games and make sure my lines were the same. In the AHL, I did the same thing with some drafted players, and they reached cielings I never thought they could. The only problem is this develops only a handful of players and you **** over everyone else. Also, you can't really play any games while doing this. Simply because everyone gets "tired" really, really fast. With simming, that doesn't matter so they're fine. It's just tough to actually go in and play a game with the system.
It's fun every once in a while, but it eventually gets a bit old.
Amusing for you to accuse someone else of plugging their ears and screaming "LALALALALALA."
You are brutally unaware of anything revolving around the RMT auction house. Merely playing the demo version of the game for 45 seconds is enough to reveal just how out of touch you are with reality on this one.
As for the goodwill? What a painfully naive thing to say. You can keep going on about how "we just need some social awareness and Activision-Blizzard will make the world a wonderful utopia where games are free and unicorns prance about in our living rooms!" But reality will set in for you one day (maybe). You don't understand how thing work, how costs extrapolate out, how revenues extrapolate in, and are completely ignorant of any of the real world processes at work in the sales of a game. You've made that painfully obvious, and everyone would be better off if you just stopped screaming "I CAN'T HEAR YOU" and pretending the opposite was the truth.
I'm really back and forth on the new X-COM game. On one hand, new modern version of a 90s classic that was amazing. On the other hand, how many of these "rebirths" end up working out? I have a lot of faith in Firaxis, but maybe this is a game that just shouldn't be given another run around, and left to die in peace. Well, after they fix the stability issue on the Steam version of UFO Defense I mean.
Started a new GM mode with Pittsburgh(yuck, but they've got some good tradeable assets)
traded Paul Martin + 3rd for Patches and Beaulieu
traded Sidney Crosby + a bunch of low level contracts for Pietrangelo, Schwartz, Oshie, Jake Allen, and 2nd round pick
traded Tyler Kennedy + Matt Niskanen for Erik Gudbranson and Jon Huberdeau
Michalek + 3rd for Jamie Benn
After a season I made the following trades:
Pascal Dupuis to ANA for Etem, Palmieri, and M. Grigorenko
2017 1st + 2018 1st + 2017 3rd to NYI for K. Okposo
I also drafted: M. Frk in the 1st, Matt Finn in the 2nd, and in the 3rd I got Yakupov, Dumba, Reilly, and in the 4th I got Murray. This game is a bit off in draft values Most up-to-date roster update, by the way so I'm not sure how that works.
I also picked up Granlund, Evgeni Grachev(I've gotten him up to 87 before), Tomas Tatar(gotten to 86), Selanne, Lidstrom, Parros, Hejduk, and Pahlsson, Stuart in free agency. Really good UFA class.
So my lineup going into the 2012-2013 season is this:
Quite frankly I don't give a damn what you think I do or do not know. And quite frankly I think you've grown too accepting of the status quo for the way things are. And oh yes, I realize that none of the stuff I have suggested has much more than a snowballs chance in hell, but that's not gonna stop me from complaining about crap that I perceive as wrong in the games industry. If you don't like that, I suggest you just stop reading my posts and stop wasting my time.
I stand by everything I have said to this point on the matter 100%. And I am done wasting my time with you.
Here is another roster from a fantasy draft. Its ridiculously stupid. This is the second year of this franchise. I have to list the AHL team as well, its just stupid.
Almost the entire AHL and NHL roster have A- or B potential. Its ridiculous how they undervalue young players. Obviously, I'm gonna break the salary cap soon for this team. But, its fun while it lasts. I simulated and only made the conference finals, I still got fired. Luckily, I still had my save game and was able to go back and make it to the finals so I could keep going. I finished 12-13 with a record of 66-12-4. Crosby finished with 128, Hall with 100, Eberle with 88, and Seguin with 75. Schneider with 13 shutouts. Simmed almost every game. 4.41 GPG and gave up 1.87.

I also have Phillips (89) Larsson (85) Palmieri (84) and pretty much anyone current somewhere in the collection and they get rotated in depending on contracts. I have cap space but I like having a team that's around 89-90 offense and 84 defense so people don't quit all the time. Also have a Parise and Suter and put in for fun sometimes. Have around 93,000 pucks. I have been addicted to this game mode since it was introduced in NHL 11. I also play some EASHL and I'm on Xbox if anyone is ever looking to play.
