Not for nothing, but after the debate about whether Parise should touch the trophy or not, I thought what happened was perfect. Even if he didn't touch the trophy and I'm not a big believer in that, getting a picture was just fine with me, it's not like he just stood there and quickly walked away from it. That accomplishment deserved 'something'.
Posted this in the GDT but it got locked right after:
So I give two of my tickets to a buddy of mine that normally sits with us in 208 but gave his seats away because he thought he couldn't come tonight, so who does he bring with him Jim F***ing Breuer. Love that guy.
Between winning tonight, beating the Rangers and laughing my ass off with Breuer what a fun night.
Leave it to Sammy Woo!!!!!!!!!
I saw Jim Breuer! I turned around in my seat and he was right behind me. Just another cool detail in one heck of a night.
There's only one angle on the replays that shows it, but I love Marty's celebration on the OT goal. A one knee slide across center ice holding out his stick like he just pulled Excalibur out of the rock.
Is it true that Torts didn't go out for handshake line?
But... he walked directly over to Pete and shook his hand before the handshake line ever started.
Coaches don't normally get in line anyways at NHL level. I'm perfectly fine with that.
"Devils just trap trap trap trap. Sure it's a modified trap different than LeMaire's but even with two forecheckers they have the defense sitting back with the third guy clogging up the middle of the ice." - explanation of how the Devils still employ the trap
