It was a decent attempt to add offense. I thought he deserved a top-9 role.

He's the kinda guy who will go to the isles and score 60 points.

Oh, and farewell to our Norwegian fan base as well! Well except the few that were here before MZA.

Was coming back in to do that, except then I remembered browsers do it automatically. +10 for you knowing how to use the internets.

I feel bad for the guy. Torts never really gave him a chance. He'll play in Russia. If he tears up the league, he'll likely be back - with elevated trade value.

Not a big loss, imo. I like Zuke, but too small and ineffective to be a regular NHL player, imo.

This sucks. But he was never given a true chance. Called up far too late, proved he can play, and now this?

Ugghh

Sucks. I like Zukes. Kid has heart. Surprised he didn't go to Sweden. Now he's gonna be subjected to loooooooooooong flights, lines for toilet paper and no defibrillators.

Yeah, shame on us for talking about somebody who'd bring more to the bottom 6 than half the guys we have playing there!

Is it odd that I can not find any other news source online that confirms or even mentions this? Maybe I'm just hoping it is not real because I want Zooks to be a Ranger. It really bothered me that on a team that could not score we did not give him a chance this season or last night.

i really hope this kid signs back in the nhl with a team in a few years. he played his ass off every night and was good enough for this league. real shame the rangers wouldn't let him off his contract. lots of respect loss to sather and torts over that. glad he'll at least get to play over there

It is confirmed by his new club (Metallurg Magnitogorsk) on clubs website. He signed 2y deal.

Well sure but his size would also be liability. On a team that's not overly big.

The obsession with him was ridiculous.

I was skeptical of posting it, but since it's from the teams site I am leaning towards it being legit.

Vorky posted this first in the Trade Rumors section, I just copied it for NYR fans. I imagine Vorky knows what's up over there.

Well, I guess he has bigger ambitions than being backup for crap like Hagelin, Fedotenko, Dubinsky, Boyle, Mitchell

Finally, now he can play hockey again. Great moove

he was a lot better than half our bottom liners and his size isn't that bad. he was better offensively than cally imo. the kid really never had a chance. we're also NOT a small team by any means. we may not be the biggest, but we're certainly a fairly large one- especially with some of the guys coming up from the minors the next few years.

yep, this link is for clubs website. There is written that Magnitogorsk signed 2y deal with Mats Zuccarello. Then you can read his date of birth, career stats.

TollefsenFan
I am 100% sure he signed in KHL. Eliteprospect just copy+paste link from original source (clubs website), maybe they are not so fast.
This trade was at clubs twitter 48 minutes ago. Of course, you can wait for another source, but I say you - it is official.

EDIT
Btw, he was rumoured to KHL during season. i dont remember club but I know about this rumour. So it is not so big suprise in my eyes
