Chris Stewart to the Leafs?

What would it take to get him from the Blues? I have been a fan of his sense he was drafted I wanted the Leafs to take him but instead they ended up with Tlusty. I think he'd be the perfect fit for the Leafs. He would add some much needed size to the top 6 and could be a perfect fit with Grabovoski.

He's a proven goal scorer with back to back 28 goal seasons and at 24 fits the age group perfectly

I'd love to see a Kulemin-Grabvoski-Stewart line or if possible a Clowe-Grabovski-Stewart line but that isn't likely.

none the Less I'd love to see Chris Stewart in the blue and white

Gunnarson and a 2nd for Chris Stewart.

Its probably only a page or two back. Sometimes I wonder if people realize that there are more than one page of posts on each board.

The Blues fans are pretty split even on this. Gunner is not the defenseman we need IMO I don't really see him upgrading what we had last season for the most part.

While Gunnarson would be a good pickup, he is not what we are looking for IMO.

No 2nd round pick from the Leafs.

Gunnarsson for Stewart straight up.

I don't think so I don't think Stewart is worth THAT much and even though he had a great year Elliot has only had one great year his inclusion does not get you Gardiner let alone Gardiner AND Colborne

I think you're right, aim higher.

Leafs need to keep Gunnarsson so that their D isn't entirely built from logs. I'd love to have Stewart in the Leafs' lineup, but not at that cost. Anyone else on Toronto's roster STL would consider? If not, it's probably best to move on.

Leafs have no LHD's other then Gunnarsson that draws our interest, and our other need is center, and we don't want Grabovski's contract, and we could do better than Bozak.

So yeah, it's probably over at that.

Gunnarsson doesn't fill a need. Without trading assets, the Blues have 2d pairing left d-men coming out the you know what.

Since there have literally been a dozen threads started by Toronto fans on this topic, usually one every week or two weeks throughout the season, there are only two trades I'd make with Toronto, and I suspect Toronto wants no part of either.

1. Stewart + 25th pick for 5th pick
2. Stewart for 2013 1st

Thats it.

There's no way I'd do the first if I were in charge. I'd think long and hard about the second though because I believe Stewart would be very, very good in the Leaf's top-6... the kind of player Toronto desperately needs.

Because this is true, it should underscore to Blues fans why Gunnarsson does not fill the hole or need. We'd still have it, only now instead of just letting Cole play on the second pairing or re-signing Jackman to do so, now we've traded an asset and still have the problem. That's just awful management.
