If he comes cheap, keep him. He is good defensively and is solid offensively, great on the PK, and is the prototypical bottom 6 player.

I'll be really surprised if he comes back. When I look back at last off-season I really wish we went with Prospal over Feds. Would've given us much better scoring support. And it's nothing against him, he's been good for us.

It is def time to let feds go and get younger. The debbies with Carter and Gionta on the 4th line vs ours clearly shows we need speed on the bottom 6. Prust better not get more than a 2 year deal.

Rename this bottom 6/4th line reconstruction.

Feds is probably done. Prust is staying. Boyle too and that is dandy. I dont really want Rupp though. Make way for some young guys' tryouts, give wellman a shot, etc

He could be signed for cheap and be jumped around as a healthy scratch/4th liner along with Rupp. Then, when playoffs come around the Rangers can insert him back into the lineup.

That's an idea. It's going to be interesting what happens to him, that's for sure.

You can? Who, and for how much? Did you see how much Bergenheim made last year?

It's time for the Rangers to try and win the Cup. They need Fedotenko, and I maintain that he would sign with an enemy and come back to haunt you.

They should bring him back, but they won't.

Yeah, this is what I anticipate, too.

IMO, Fedotenko is still a better player than any of Boyle, Prust, Mitchell, or Rupp. And he wasn't nearly as bad this season as some people say. In the right role, he's a great bottom six player to have. Stellar defensive forward, very strong, and pretty smart.

Rupp has been a tremendous disappointment for me, as I hoped they would go hard after him.

He should have been used in different roles and on different lines. He really wasn't. That's on Tortorella. He should have put Rupp with Gaborik and Richards in the playoffs. It was worth a shot.

Really? How would this help the team with scoring?

Offseason changes will alter the roster, but as of today, I'd like to see him back. He shows his value in the playoffs. He got more points than Richards and Gaborik in the third round. Something is wrong there (no offense meant to Fedotenko).

You wonder what the Rangers would be doing today if their star players scored the way they should and some support players like Stepan and Hagelin did the same.

Big body presence along the boards that would free up space for the other two. The issue with Rupper would be is how slow he is but I don't think I would have been too hesitant to try it. Not like he doesn't have talent. Ideally, Dubi should have been the ne to do it on the line but it didn't work earlier in the season.

If you don't know, then perhaps you might want to reconsider your crusade against Gaborik on the grounds that you don't seem to even understand what sort of situation Gaborik needs to be in to be successful.

Even if he does free up space, he is just a passenger and does not know what to do with the puck. It would be a waste of ice time and that line would be a wreck defensively IMO. With Hagelin, it somewhat balances out a bit.

The team needs a young, powerforward with size and toughness. The problem is, 29 other teams in the league want this type of player too.

Hagelin's not exactly a great defensive player. The issue when he was on the top line was they couldn't get open. No one could. I'm not saying Rupp's a great solution but it was worth a shot. I would have tried Boyle as well if you're looking for someone quicker and more defensively responsible.

Get him the hell outta here. Even if he was free i would pass.

Anyone who watched the Rangers this season saw he was washed up, and now some of you want him back for another season? Oh jeeze.

It time to let a kid take his spot, or a younger FA signing to play on the 3rd line and can actually provide some offense.

Goal for offseason: GET SECONDARY SCORING.

As a 4th line winger who can kill penalties and has proven in back to back playoffs for us that he can play when it matters most which is also backed up by two rings he has, you wouldn't want him back for free?

Imagine if Gaborik converted on an empty net from a great feed from Feds. We might have won game 5 and would be geting ready for game 7 now.

If Richie could have lifted the puck on his open net last night there wouldnt have been OT
