Trade proposal for Crosby: Which Team?

Ok, say we wanted to make a strike for Crosby in the 2005 draft. On the assumption that the draft would be based upon the 2004 season and that the 2004 season is NOT locked out... which team would you want to make a gamble for their first round draft pick of 2005?

I wouldn't gamble with anyone (Pittsburgh if there was a gun to my head). Not only can a year change a lot of things (Carolina), but there's also the draft lottery to worry about. Who has the number 1 pick won't be known until April, 2005. When the owner of that pick is decided, then the offers will start coming in.

Oh absolutely agreed. But what if a year ago, we were offered the Penguins #1 draft pick for Comrie... would we have done it and gotten a good shot at getting Ovechkin? All I'm saying is that its cheaper to get the first round pick before you know the draft order for #1 than after (assuming you want #1).
