Even though I didn't like him, I'd love to see him play again as a backup or in a two goalie system (split starts) - I think the length of the season would really wear on him now if he was a starter though. There's also no way he becomes a goalie coach, as there's no one that really plays that style. I doubt he's coming back just because he wants to play again, I believe he wants to WIN again; He'll be looking to go to a strong team that just needs a goalie to get over the hump. Chicago would be the best candidate in the sense that the team should easily make the playoffs without playing him too much and then he can take over more games for the playoffs.

Wouldn't even be surprised if it's a mid-season signing. Lowers the cap hit and allows him to play an abbreviated season as a warm up for the playoffs.

a) Don't listen to the others, I thought this is a perfect analogy.

b) Are you female by any chance?

He still can stop shots, but no one can stop time. I don't think it's a good idea...

I was thinking the same thing but with Columbus. But the thing is do you really want your future keeper to have Hasek style??? He did well with it but not alot of keeper can do what he did so I wouldn't want him as a teacher.

I rather have Turco as a teacher then Hasek.

Also I hear a couple months ago that Hasek was keeping himself in shape to either come back in the NHl or KHL. He's in great shape at the moment but not sure if a team would gamble on him. I would love to see him back.

Do you know what happened on that play they showed where the puck went in and the guy said "and Hasek is stirring up trouble by letting it go through the wickets" and the other guy said "stop the puck Dominik"?

That's what I thought. I just think that it's a bit of a dangerous move just let it go through his pads, lol. I guess he saw that they were making the call.

Are there 50 better goalies in the world today?

If your answer is anything but a definite yes, hell yes!, then he may be worth a backup position in the NHL, as there are 60 jobs out there and his experience and legacy has to make him a consideration for some franchise. He is arguably the greatest ever, certainly in any discussion of the best ever, and to have him play his last games for your franchise is an honour. (And there's the ticket factor: I'd actually go see a BlueJackets game if ol' Hasek was a starter, just to see what might happen...).

Can he hold his own for 20-30 games? That is the question, assuming the price is right.

Imagine if he was a goalie coach to Holtby? It just seems like they were made for each other.

Well, it was funny when KHL's Spartak picked him up in 10/11'.

He had a bad start, but that was due to the team being pretty bad at the start of the season.
At the end of the season, he was leading the KHL in shutouts.

I have no doubt he could secure a PTO with most teams, but I wonder which teams he could legit get signed for, with no tryout, on a one-way contract.

If he's ok playing backup, I actually wouldn't mind him on my Canucks if Schneider stays and Luongo goes! There's nobody in the minors that is immediately ready for the spot and Schneider is ready for the number one job, so finding a guy to challenge him (like a Vokoun) seems pointless. I could get on board with a one-year deal, Hasek on the Canucks, to play a backup role!
