Did it mention the potential of stealing our AHL affiliate's baseball team?

You guys would get to see Aaron Sanchez, and Noah Syndergaard. Elite pitching prospects, Both are only 19 and both throw 96-98 MPH.
Edit my bad, I forgot that the Jays re-upped with NH for two more years.

Lame. I was really hoping for the Jays' AA affiliate. I hope they keep trying for it, but I bet it'd be hard to convince NH to let a winning team leave.

If it isn't affiliated with the Jays, the team will crash and burn just like every other baseball team that has been here.
And I don't get the blind hate for Toronto from some poster with two guys born in the Toronto area lol!!!
I cheer for the Jays and don't have a problem saying so. They aren't affiliated at all with the Leafs anyways.
Guess I should stop cheering for my Buffalo Bills too since I don't like the Sabres????

Good excuse to continue supporting the Fat Cats. It's not AA baseball but it's still an enjoyable afternoon out at the stadium on a hot summer/spring day.

It's too bad we have to wait at least 2 more years to get AA baseball affiliated with the jays :/ I for one aren't interested in baseball unless it's affiliated with Toronto.

I'm loving the Fat Cats, and if you asked me if I wanted AA Baseball with the Mets now or 2 more years of Fatcats and then a Jays affiliate, I'd pick the second one without hesitation.

went last weekend and it was pretty fun.. my buddy is actually the assistant GM and I might start working with them also.. 1st order of business.. get Chad Brisebois (who I went to HS with) a personal batting coach.. his batting avg is ridiculously terrible.

The team averages must be close to 300, because I saw a lot of guys hovering over that mark.

Good luck in getting baseball in Ottawa, we love our BMets, (going on almost 20 years of NYM affiliate) but this is still a hockey town..

That's awesome that you've stayed that long. Tough to do.
To be honest, I think the only way AA or AAA Baseball could ever succeed in Ottawa would be if they were affiliated with the Jays (or Expos
).
When we had the Lynx, the only real Major Leaguer is like JA Happ and Eli Whiteside, and a bit of Fernando Tatis.
The Jays have a great farm team so I think it would succeed in Ottawa.

My bad, this is the
25th season of NYM affiliate..time flys
There's been a ton of major leaguer's that have gone through Bingo, coming to mind David Wright, Jose Reyes, Rey Ordonez, Jon Niese, Edgardo Alfonzo..

Based off of memory, Ottawa was with the Expos, Orioles, then Phillies.
After the Expos, no one really cared about the prospects because they were going to random teams.

AAA Baseball team from 1992 or 1993 until 2007. We won the Championship one year, used to sell out the games.

That's what you guys should have is a triple A team..an NHL city should support it, not the AA..

Yeah, attendance got real bad the last year.
I think Ottawa can do it if they're motivated. I don't see why the Jays AAA affiliate is out of Las Vegas anyways. I'd do anything to have a AAA team as the Jays affiliate.
EDIT: Looking at stats, I see that John Maine played for the Lynx. Was he ever in Binghamton?

To be fair, that's a big reason why people hate on him and question him, especially when he spends 3 months a year down there during the summer. If Spezza is going to be out captain, he needs to cut ties to that city and become 100% "born and bred" Ottawa. Heck, he even had one of his kids in Toronto...we have hospitals
here Jason, aren't they good enough?
I personally will not support a TO-based team in any capacity. I will support the Fat Cats though.

He is a big fan of the Leafs and nothing infuriates him as much as anyone slighting Toronto in any way.He is always going on and on about it.
His usual style of trolling is representing Sens fans in a ridiculous way.
He is just seeing who will rise to the bait.
