I think canada will finish 3rd in this group. I also doubt JDG2 and Junior will play with the national team.

The CSA also deserves this fate.

JDG II met with Canadian coaches this week.

Assuming that there are no hold-ups with the Canadian government (which in all fairness is far from a guarantee), he will play for Canada.

Just stumbled across this thread: apparently Canada sucks and should just give up. Only the European teams are any good and we should just award the cup to one of them (draw a name out of a hat). If this method proves successful, it will be applied to hockey where Canada will be awarded every championship.

There's a reason the games aren't played on paper. Furthermore, if you want to see who the best European team is, watch the Euro Cup. A World Cup without representatives from all over the world would not live up to its name........

Canada will be in tough next round. Should be able to beat Cuba but Honduras and Panama should prove to be a handful.

It would be such a huge boost for Canada.

Bumping this thread as meanginful matches are coming up

June 3: vs United States, BMO, Friendly
June 8: @ Cuba, Havana, WCQ
June 12: vs Honduras, BMO, Friendly

The June 3 match against the US is the Centennial match that celebrates (probably not the right word) 100 years of the Canadian Soccer Association. As such we will be wearing blue which will absolutely confuse the hell out of any casual that tunes in.

Then the real matches begin. JDG II still thinks he can play for Holland, nothing from Junior Hoilett and Josh Simpson is out for 8+ months with a broken tibia/fibula/ankle. It'll be an uphill climb that's for sure

----------------Hirschfeld------------------
Edgar - McKenna - Hainault - Klukowski
----------Johnson-----De Guzman--------
----------------Hutchinson-----------------
---Jackson------------------De Rosario---
-----------------Occean-------------------

...or something like that

Ya, it's gonna be tough.

They NEED to win all their matches at home. I really think that's their only chance of advancing. No Simpson hurts and of course it would have been great to see JG II and Hoilett but ya know...

All the matches (including Sunday) will be on Sportsnet.

Canada-USA about to start. Canada's only tuneup for WCQ

A result would be nice but really just need to get through the game without any injuries. Depth is very thin with WCQ starting this week.

Hey now don't forget the closed door friendly against a USL U-17 team (/sarcasm)

We looked quite good tonight though. Hopefully that carries onto Havana and we can find that finishing touch

The CSA has no money to hire anyone well-known, and they don't seem to care enough to do some research/scouting to find someone better who would be at the same pay level as Hart.

As bad as Canada is at soccer, they would probably still beat England.

Big day today. Hoping for a draw at worst but a win would be a huge way to start.

I think the game is at 1 EST this afternoon.
