The sisters, good one

Kesler to FLA (Huberdeau)

Out of idle curiosity, would FLA be interested in a player such as Ryan Kesler in a package around Huberdeau?

And if so, what would either side need to add to get the value right?

Agreed.

At the same time Kesler isn't moving for something less than major overpayment.

A trade for Kesler won't be happening for the Isles.

It's not just about equal value (in the form of picks/prospect) the trade must make the Canucks a stronger team for their window.

Won't happen

Kesler is on the decline, he's a diver, that I wouldn't want on my team, is his contract terms are bad, and he's injury prone. No thanks.

Vancouver doesn't need to add, not sure if either team does this though.

Value may be there, but I don't think Tallon would do it.

Oh it definitely doesn't in the short run make them better. And as you said, it would need to be contingent on a big UFA signing or another major trade that replaces the 2C position (Only logical one id see is like an Edler for Staal swap). And if Edler was getting moved in any trade to land a 2C, the following kesler trade would need to be for a Dman, etc.

So ya pretty much just a UFA signing will get this done. I still find Strome + the 1st enticing

Why would the Canucks move Kesler for picks? They're not rebuilding.

This. FLA isn't trading a top prospect like Huber.

How about the Isles actually MAKE the playoffs, then worry about production?

Sedin Sedin Kesler for JT is a ridiculous overpayment.

2 art ross winners, 1 selke winner, 1 hart winner for.. not even a calder...

on average, 200 points for.. 70ish?

yeah, that's a HORRIBLE deal for the Islanders..

Of course it won't.

NYI fans aren't dictating Snow's budget.Wang is.

and Wang is not paying Kesler $5m per.

Don't show up in the playoffs but they'd at least get the Isles INTO them....

So instead of paying Tavares $4m in actual salary, for each of the next few seasons, the isles pay $17m for Sedin/Sedin/Kesler?

Are they willing to be paid in monopoly money?

The Sedins are going to be 32 by the start of next season, Kesler is injured, and the Islanders are not ready to compete. By the time the Islanders had the necessary pieces to make a run to the cup the Sedins would be 34-35, likely 60 point players by that point, and Tavares by that point will likely be a 100 point player. No the Islanders don't do this trade.

Sure its an overpayment, but one that doesn't make sense for the Islanders.

wow no way. I hate the undervaluation of prospects. Give it a couple of years time. Kesler and Huberdeau in the same sentence will be laughable.

Besides kesler is more valuable to vancouver who needs to win now than a prospect who could help them win three years from now. Vice Versa for Florida.

One off year after a career year?

5Mx5Y is a good contract when Ville Leino got 4.5Mx6Y

He's had injuries, but that's because of his playstyle

wait what?

in 2 years the Sedins are going to be 60 point players? Care to make a wager on that?

I love how undervalued the Canucks players are. Luongo is going to horrendously suck in a few years, the Sedins are gonna be 60 point players in 2 years. Wow.

You realize Henrik Sedin alone, puts up 60 points in just assists for the last 7 years right? Well 6, 7th year he put up 57 assists.

So trading for the Sedins and Kesler, will allow the cash strapped County to come up with the couple of hundred million for a new arena?
