including defence, Voynov-Mitchell is the only line on the team without someone who has been to the finals
even the 'scratches' line in practice has cup final experience!!
And that's no accident or coincidence, either. That's always been part of Lombardi's plan. He values that experience and leadership. Maybe he didn't overvalue that afterall.
a little annoyed to see the posts here ripping Peter Harrold. He may have been a pure 7th defenseman for us but he was the consummate pro and by all indications a good guy. I for one am very happy for him and Ponikarovsky.

Peter Harrold ... by all means yes, good to see him continue to have success.
Ponikarovsky ? Why ... not like he did a damn thing to help this team, and what a joke of a replacement for Frolov he was.

Most of the comments ripping Harrold is due to the fact that devils fans are trying to compare him to our D.
It's going to be fun watching the Kings light up Marty, like they did in these past games.
Just pepper Brodeur with shots and put as many pucks on net as possible. It worked on Mike Smith, who was widely considered the best goalie in the playoffs along with Lundqvist, that is until he played the Kings.
Apparently Harrold is equal to Martinez according to some Devils fans. Man, that fanbase is getting more annoying by the day.
You're looking wayyyyy too into it. Harrold has played great for the Devils in their playoff run. I can't blame them for not scouting Martinez the same. His game has certainly changed according to many knowledgeable Devils fans. Why get so worked up over it?

Way too into it? That's exactly what they are saying and I'm allowed to disagree.
People have been picking in our favor after Game 2 against the Blues. Sutter won't let the team get full of themselves.
Not just that, but "favorites" actually do win, every now and again. Couple that with the fact that this Kings team is going to be a favorite to do well for years to come, so they better get used to playing with that kind of expectation level and living up to it. I would be highly disappointed if this team can only motivate itself to exceed lowered expecations than not live up to lofty ones. They can start as David this year, but I want them to turn into Goliath and stomp everyone going forward.

Great point, and that's what makes this such a weird time. For so long we've been watching this team not meet expectations, and now they're meeting and exceeding the **** out of every expectation we could ever think of. I'm still not fully comprehending what's happening.
I've been watching this team for so long I'll be waiting for the other shoe to drop until that cup is raised.
I had no idea the Devils were so vulnerable to shorthanded goals. 15 total shorthanded goals against this season and playoffs combined (13 regular season, 2 playoffs) is just awful. Combine that with that fact that a slow/injured Kovy will be on one of the points and Devils PP's could get real interesting

Zidlicky fumbles the puck ALOT so pressure the hell out of him and Kovy when they are on the points.Rangers were close to a few odd man rushes a few times vs them but were always a step too slow.
i got a good feeling you guys take this in 6,and i want nothing more then to hear fatso(Marty) whine about it.
go get em guys!
