With the 181st pick of the 2012 NHL entry draft, the Vancouver Canucks are proud to select, from the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League,...

Forward Christopher Clapperton.

Chris is a very gifted offensive player and we are thrilled to see him available this late in the draft. His production was very good for a guy his age and we believe his size won't prevent him from translating his game to the pros.

PM'ing Columbus

The Columbus Blue jackets are proud to select, from the Lincoln Stars, defenseman mike McKee. Mike is somewhat of a project having only started playing defense 2 years ago but we will be patient with him as we feel he has huge upside.

next owner PMed

I'd say I hate you but you know that already... Great pick. Was hoping the Habs would have picked him last year. Hope they do it this year. I was sure he was going to be available for me in the 7th.

From 2nd to 7th round, I guess that's better then when I drafted him last year.

What's the status regarding his legal issues? Haven't heard much from him since last year.

The promising junior hockey player who killed his girlfriend in a high-speed crash outside of Springbank last spring will not face jail time.

The teen was sentenced Thursday in a Cochrane court to two years of probation, 240 hours of community service and a five-year driving ban after pleading guilty to a charge of dangerous driving causing death.

I didn't even think about him for this year draft, but why the **** not, no jail, moved team but had similar production with 10 less games played.

I was licking my chops, ain't even gonna lie. Now that the terms of his punishment are set, and not particularly restrictive, I'm pretty sure someone's picking him up this year.

With the 184th pick, the Islanders select goaltender Corbin Boes of the Brandon Wheat Kings.

Corbin made huge strides after being passed over in last year's draft. Had a great second half of the season and was invited to the Team Canada goaltender development camp.

How many of your picks have I taken this year? Gonna start rating my drafts on how many of you I piss off rather than how many of my guys make the NHL.

Detroit is proud to select Kevin Duane from Brunwsick HS with the 185th pick. He has been recruited by Boston University. The 6-4 forward scored a goal per game in prep hockey this past season.
