MDZ had a great regular season. Have to look at the complete picture not just a handful of games. Ditto Gabs. Don't throw out the baby with the bath water.

I was pretty pissed at his performance the last few games, but Im not trading him. He's young, has made strides, and if he continues to strive for excellence and work at it, will continue to get better.

The knee-jerk reactions are ridiculous.
Did you expect anything but knee-jerk reactions? If so, you were just setting yourself up for disappointment by coming here. Del Zotto is the worst defenseman in the league, Hank is a choker, Kreider will score 70 goals next season, and Gaborik will be bought out or traded.

Del Zotto is young so Im not going to really worry about it, but given whats happened to him over the past 3 seasons, I think his level of mental toughness can certainly be questioned.

I agree that it can be questioned, although I'd also point out that some people develop it with age and experience. That goes back to your youth point.

Considering that our problem throughout the playoffs was generating offense.

I'm not going to knock a defenseman who tried doing just that.

His level of mental toughness and hockey smarts as well can be seriously questioned. The guy needs a shrink for sure and I'll venture to guess he will never max out his potential.
That being said, I'd only field offers for him for legit upgrades for the roster, no less!
