Weaver is hurt. And against the Yankees. Right now it's 8-8 top of the 8th. If Weaver didn't get hurt, I doubt the Yankees would be in such a good position.

If it wasn't for an ump calling a strike a ball when Isringhausen was pitching, then it wouldn't be a tie game at 8-8. Because the strike zone was shrunken while Isringhausen was pitching, it gave the Yankees better pitches to receive in order to be struck out. The Angels were doing fine until that inning with the Yankees filling up bases and the ump decided they were back in NY again, as opposed to being in Angel stadium.

Trumbo's power is insane. I can't believe he almost tapped that ball for an oppo in the first.

Noticed the Angels are .500. That's good right? In rounders?

Due to a seven game winning streak, the Angels are finally a .500 ball club. During that streak, they went from cellar dwellers in the AL West to second place. They are seven games out of first in the AL West and three games out of the second wild card spot. After 50 games and from what started off as a terrible season, the Angels are heating up with 112 games left to do a lot of damage, especially with Trumbo, Pujols, Trout and Morales hitting so well as of late.

I hope things are well with Weaver. If things look that bad, Roy Oswalt is still a FA.

I'm fine with all of this as long as they stay in the rear view mirror...

Is it official? I'm not sure what he can bring. I do know Harrison has been shaky as hell and Feldman needs to just go away (and he's starting tonight). Guess we will see what happens. Didn't they say he will need like a month before he can step into the rotation?

Not sure if it's official, it was reported by ESPN sources. Also not sure about how long he will need before being able to start.

Then you should easily handle the Rangers tomorrow... they have given up 26 runs to the freaking Mariners in the last 13 innings.

Itzuris has got to be the worst #2 hitter ever. He has taken away 3 easy stolen bases from Trout by swinging!

That's called terrible communication between the players and coaches. But that's not the reason for the Angels to lose the series against the Mariners. It's bad pitching and errors. Mainly, though, it's bad pitching. Give credit to the Mariners because they've been a hitting machine as of late.

In the two losses to the Mariners, the Angels have scored 6 runs in each game. That should be enough to win if your pitchers are on point. Okay, so the Angel have a good starting staff and backend, but the need to upgrade the middle relievers is now a must. Santana is having his off year again and Williams lost a little something. I hope Garrett Richards improves so much that maybe we can demote Williams to become a middle reliever. either way, the middle relievers need improvement in such a case our starters struggle.

Actually it is the fault of the hitter in the cases I cited. If your lead-off man and fastest runner on the team takes off with good jump (you can tell or not as the hitter), and you have less then 2 strikes, you don't swing. Especially at bad pitches like Izturis did in each of times Trout had an easy stolen base that game. Thats the #2 guys job.

I do agree with you regarding middle relief. It is pretty bad. Now only if chinstrap Santana would start pitching well.

I don't know if Santana being demoted to relief would be a good idea. My problem with it is that Santana sucks in the first inning, even when he's on his game. He is the worst first inning pitcher I've ever seen. So giving him a role where he's only pitching one or two innings isn't the greatest idea. At least not for a team that's desperate for middle relief.

IIRC, Santana has always been a hot and cold pitcher. He has like 7 great starts in a row followed by 7 atrocious ones or vice-versa. He has arguably the best pure stuff on the staff, but just can't put it together.

Mike Trout, what a player/prospect. He just keeps getting himself on the base.

3.0 behind Texas.

Freaking chinstrap!!!!!!! Walk the opsosing pitcher with 2 outs then give up a 3 run blast. He sucks!!!! Send him to the pen or even AAA.

ha ha ha Santana was awesome last year, sucked the year before that, great the year before that. This year he is bound to be terrible. Time for Garrett Richards to take his place once Weaver is recovered.

But seriously... Santana walked an opposing pitcher hitting .078. How in the heck do you do that or, matter of factly, why would you do that?!
