Rangers have signed Jesper Fasth (2010, 6th Round)

Quote:
The ‪#NYR‬ have agreed to terms with forward Jesper Fast, their 6th round pick in 2010 who played in Swedish Elite League last year

Who did actually change the spelling on his last name..

and yes, it is now Jesper Fast (not Fasth, as his name was when he was drafted in 2010)!

The Red Wings have signed Teemu Pulkkinen to a three-year entry level contract. He was a 4th round pick (111th overall) in the 2010 Draft.

Wtf is he on about? It's Fasth, not Fast. Sure the H in his name is silent but you still spell it Fasth...

Come on, if you could have the last name of 'Fast', wouldn't you?

per Jason Gregor, the Oilers will not be offering Drew Czerwonka or Jeremie Blain contracts.

F Czerwonka, 20, had 14 goals and 32 points in 40 games with Kootenay of the WHL this past season. He was a 6th round choice, 166th overall in 2010.

D Blain, 20, had 9 goals and 50 points in 58 games split between Acadie-Bathurst and Victoriaville of the QMJHL. He was a 4th round choice, 91st overall in 2010.

They are currently negotiating with their lone remaining 2010 pick, Brandon Davidson.

Anyone know if Fasth/Fast and Dahlbeck will be coming over to the NHL/AHL or staying in Europe?

I was expecting this news to come out about five minutes after the WHC Gold Medal game. Am surprised it took this long!

Per Columbus beat writer Aaron Portzline's twitter, Blue Jackets head of scouting Tyler Wright says "We expected him to be more of an offensive player, and he's just kind of stumbled in that regard the last two seasons. Like the kid; wish him the best."

Sorensen have no idea about. A Senators beat writer simply said he would not be signed by Ottawa.

Also Mike Russo is reporting there may be an contract dispute between Johan Gustafsson and the Minnesota Wild.

Quote:
Earlier this month, it sounded like a signing was imminent and there were just complications because there was no transfer agreement between the Swedish Ice Hockey Federation and the NHL. But I understand that was agreed upon late last week, and yet Gustafsson still hasn't signed.
Now I'm sensing more pessimism inside the Wild.
After some inquiries, Fletcher would only say, "Not done yet." I talked to Gustafsson's agent, Jay Grossman, this afternoon, and he was very vague. He just said he's traded phone calls with the Wild, had no communication today and didn't want to say anything to fuel the fire.
Again, Grossman, a veteran agent who has several top clients including Ilya Kovalchuk, was vague, but it was interesting that he said there was a "fire" to fuel.

Any insight about Joey Leach in Calgary? He signed an ATO but never dressed in Abbotsford. I sort of thought he'd be signed, but then I know it is tough to gauge which WHL dmen will be signed and which won't. Cheers!

I was expecting him to be signed by now, as well. The only thing I can think is either Leach is asking for a lot of money (Unlikely) or else maybe they're planning on announcing a whole bunch of signings today or tomorrow. Like how there were rumors that Mac Carruth had signed last week, then news on Joakim Nordstrom on Monday, and finally this morning Chicago confirmed those two along with two other signings. So maybe Calgary's trying to get a couple signings at the same time (Laurent Broissoit might be who it would be worth getting under contract now, Tyler Wotherspoon's another possibility).
