I just get the sense that Thomas will never make it as a pro; heck, I've been wrong before.

Fast was on par with Silfverberg, who we say in Ottawa series before his foot broke. He was a PPG player.

Why the hell did he change his name if that's true?

Can he come to training camp and then be loaned to the SEL?

The "H" is silent in Swedish so he probably wants his name to be pronounced correctly. Fast is a cool name for a hockey player - no?

Better than Joe Slow I would presume...

Yeah. Damn those overrated kids that play our their junior eligibility instead of immediately making the NHL...

Great news. Most underrated prospect in this organization's system. Really excited to see him here, probably for the 13-14 season.

Probably, but his team In Sweden starts playing already September 13th so I am not sure they can work it out. I agree it would be interesting to see (and good for him too) but it is probably not a realistic option. He might be part of our run for the SC after the regular season a la Kreider, Silfverberg... If he has a good year. Which I very much suspect he will. Like I said before - this kid was a steal and is the real deal!

Who do you think can make the team sooner? Lindberg or Fasth?

Good question. Fast has by far the higher upside, but Lindberg might be NHL ready sooner for a 4th line role. I would think we see them both in camp next year, with both seeing time in the AHl a bit before becoming full time NHLers...

Ya gotta figure that if these 2 guys step up and take spots, there will be some major deals going down, especially with offensive needs and with big resignings to make with our RFAs/UFAs and some very interesting possible scenarios considering cap space and so on. If a couple of guys can transition to the NHL on their ELCs well that saves a bit of space that can be used elsewhere... Well... You know what I mean...

Eh. I can think of a few prospects who are more underrated than Fasth.

Awesome news.

Love this kid. The broken foot was a set back. But he's returned to form.

Is this name spelling change legit? Its pronounced the same, just dropped the 'h' i guess.

What is the ceiling on this kid? 2nd line wing?

Looks like he might be the perfect player to play with Hagelin.

Fasth. Fasth also has top 6 potential. Lindberg is more like a potential bottom 6 (a good one though) IMO.

He plays both sides.

I would say he has 2nd line potential. Whoever threw out the Loui Eriksson comparison, IMO, is dead-on. That's exactly who he plays like. His speed and tenacity all over the ice are a treat to watch.

Hagelin - Step - Fasth would be very nice indeed as a consistent 3rd line
Kreider - Richards - Gaborik as top line
PACK line (maybe upgrading one of AA/Dubinsky with a more consistent offensive threat) would round out our top 9 nicely.
Miller - Boyle/ Lindberg - Prust as our 4th line
Add your traditional goon as a spare (when Big Mac arrives our need for a heavyweight fwd will diminish) or another multipurpose multitask all a rounder

Like who? Fasth isn't known at all (maybe a few ppl know him) inside our fanbase. He was almost on a PPG pace when he got injured in the SEL. he has great speed and top 6 potential.

Kreider, Hagelin, Gaborik (if he's still here when Fasth comes over), Fasth, 4 real quick wingers.

If Miller makes the team, which I doubt, he would most certainly be centering that line. He is a face off beast.
