SEL isn't a high scoring league but you shouldn't judge a prospect based on points in any league.

If he plays a full season in the SEL next season. Look for about 30-35 points. 12-15 goals. Which would be among the team leaders.
I have to admit, after watching him quite closely in my year abroad, I'd be quite disappointed with that. Haven't seen him play in a while, but the guy put up 21 Pts in 36 yrs in the 2010-11 season. If he fully recovers and get's his feet from 2 yrs ago back, no reason he can't hit 50 Pts.

Not sure if this matter's, if you extrapolate his #'s this year, they were comparable to Zetterberg's last year in the SEL. However, Zetterberg's #'s were much better his prior year.

Good to get him locked up, now it's time for Lindberg!

Keep Fast(h) in the SEL for another year, then try and bring him over.

Is this guy more of a scorer/playmaker? Also how many games will it take once he comes up for people to start calling for us to trade him? Thanks.

He's definitely an offensive forward, but plays a complete game.

To answer your second question: Zero. He'll be trade bait as soon as people start realizing he's going to be loaned back to HV71 instead of joining the Whalepack. Then we'll see the loonies chanting about his lack of commitment to the franchise.

Jeebus. Of course I did. And it was 15 pts in 35 games. This year it was 16 or 17 (or so? - too lazy to look it up) in, I think 20 games. I apologize for that, mixed something up . He did, however, beast it up in Juniors. I expect some huge progression over the offseason, however. The only thing I can think about keeping him from a Top-6 NHL role is physicality - but his agility should really help his cause here. He's, however, not your typical goal scorer. Carl Hagelin minus a little speed plus better hands and vision. Good on the forecheck.

This seems to me to basically be making sure he can pull a Silfverberg after his SEL season ends.

What I meant was is he more of a scorer OR a playmaker? Meaning is he a better scorer or passer? Or is he good at both? Either way, which is he better at?

There's a lot to like with Fast(h). He's very speedy down the wing on the rush, shows patience to outwait the goaltender, is an effective forechecker and has that annoying Parise-like quality to worm his way through the scrum to tip rebounds into the net.

Having said that, he obviously does all this on a larger ice surface and he is somewhat slight of build, so like all European prospects, the "will he translate to the NHL" question will hang over his head - until he does.

He is very fast, so it's kind of funny that he changed his name to Fast. Has great top six upside. The kid can play. I just hope that knee injury doesn't linger with him the rest of his career.

With all of this speed, maybe the Rangers offense will become like the post-lockout Sabres .

Man, think about when Fast comes over and plays for us.

We'll have Gaborik, Callahan, Kreider, Hagelin, and Fast all on the wing. MOAR SPEED!!!

Make sure you hit the mute button, to save you from terrible music. The goal at 2:47 is what he's best at and what he has to do, IMO.

Upside is a 2nd line wing.
Fast skater. Can shoot and make a play. I've seen Loui Ericsson comparisons.

I'd say it's a pretty safe bet that he can play in the NHL. It's just a question of how well.

Edit: think Hagelin-like speed, with better hands and vision.

No one on his team scored 50 points this year. Or last.

Don't put ip unreasonable expectations.

except Loui Ericsson is a 1st line player. He's got some injury history otherwise he'd be right up there, or Swedish Kreider territory.

Fast clearly wants to be a Bruin.

Poor man's version of Ericsson. I'd be jumping on my living room couches if it became true.
