This team has come so far in its confidence, in its composure, in establishing its game. Night and day doesn't begin to describe it.

I didn't realize how obvious it was until seeing it on TV right now.

Inexplicably, I also miss Steve & Chico's voices.
I would say so but they still blow leads so not exactly night and day for me.

Game 5 of this past series seemed like an anomaly. A kicked in puck and a weird gaffe by Marty were part of blowing that lead.

Game 6, the Rangers were fighting for the lives there. They played pretty strong. I expected the score to be close going into the third and the Devils to have to weather a few storms.

In the end, they've stopped getting deflated by blown leads and have rallied back to win each and every time. As opposed to that round 1, game 3 abomination.

I still see a huge difference.

All their beards are so weak still.

It's kinda crazy thinking about how close it was to being all over right there in game 6 in the first round. A bunch of chances that if the bounce goes differently, we're talking about the LA-whoever matchup while wondering what went wrong right now.

Plus, we'd all be wondering if this is Goodbye for Zach as a Devil.

Thank god for the Hockey Gods being kind this year.

How long did this OT go? I can't even remember.
I just remember being near comatose after that scramble in front of Marty.

They played pretty well in this game but you can clearly see the tentativeness in their game. As good as this team is able to play, like you said, their confidence wasn't completely there just yet.

It's amazing how just one bad bounce the other way and we'd be about 4 1/2 weeks into the offseason right now.

I didn't watch this one on TV so I missed this Chicoism...talking about how many shots that Clemmer faced:

"He's seen more pucks than a...catcher."

I was referring to the replay of the Devils round 1/game 6 on TV here right now. Pancake's beard is beastly, much like Andy Greene for the Devils.

Game 2 vs Philly, sans Kovy, was the obvious turning point.

I was at all the games in the first round, but I was told by friends watching that Chico was all over Clemmensen in almost all those games, and had a huge Clemmer boner.

Speaking of Clemmensen remember when we used to make him look like Ken Dryden?

Those days are over! Thank god!

Yeah, I was looking through all the media day interviews and they all seem to say the same thing. Once they realized how well they could play against Philly, everything clicked together.
