Yup, your forecheck scares me because we've seen the Kings have success with the same.

This to me is the key to the series for both teams. Whichever team's defensemen move the puck the best up and out of their own zone to prevent the opposition from establishing a forecheck wins this thing.

I think you're right about Quick. He is the X-factor for the Kings. I expect he may bail them out once in this series.

Kings and Coyotes game 5 will be on FSWest at 830 followed by Kings live. Just thought I would throw that out there!

My point exactly -- the Canucks, Blues and Yotes series are equally irrelevant history at this point.

Not really. This is a team that WILL be playing and what they did. Not two random statistics from 9 and 17 years ago.

Uh, no. The teams that had been 12-2 before WERE playing too. And their records didn't matter. As the Kings' prior playoff record thus year also doesn't. Starting from scratch tomorrow night.

The record doesn't matter, but the confidence and momentum built up from collecting that record is pretty important.

Thanks for pointing that out. I think Sutter beat you to it though since he has said that before each playoff series.

Not saying its the be all end all, but it does carry some weight, as it is relevant to present events. In the confidence that creates (as others said).

What you're saying is like me saying, "The 1981 Dodgers beat the Yankees in 6 games to win the world series. Based on that, they will this year too."

Anyway, i'm done.

Oh Sutter...

"We could be watching on TV. You know what, this will take an hour out of today," Sutter said of the media session. "What are we going to do? Go to the mall?"

In Anžes hometown Hrušica, population 2000, they're setting up a 15ft screen for a group watch. The show starts at 10pm, to probably around 5am. Pretty nice.

I am sure NBC is already working on shutting it down and stealing the punch and pie.

I know you guys love Laperriere like we do. Last night on Twitter, there was an open Q&A.

Quote:
Q: Which player will you be cheering for in the Cup Finals? (I think we know which team!)

Lappy: no one in particular but I hope the kings win it for the fans not the bandwagon fan but the real fans that been thru bad times
And this is why we love Lappy!

Although O'Rourke over McCauley is baffling (O'Rourke is who thought Brown was diving when he was hatchet-chopped by Smith).
O'Halloran and O'Rourke? Jeez, this'll make the finals interesting....
