With the 192nd pick, we are proud to select out of the USHL, center AJ Michaelson.

"Just last year he was touted as a probable first rounder. He's got speed, he's got the talent, and according to his coach in the USHL O'Handley, he's got the work ethic. Though his stats weren't impressive last season, at this point in the draft, we feel it's a good pick."

O'Handley on AJ:

“From the day he got here, the biggest thing that strikes me is his relentless work ethic,” “He never wavered. Any scout that will listen to me, I will say, ‘He will play in the NHL, and he will have a long career."

next GM will be PM'd.

That concludes my draft.

41. Oscar Dansk, G
72. Tomas Hyka, W
132. Quentin Shore, C
162. Connor Carrick, D
192. AJ Michaelson, C

This year I went a little USA heavy.

With the 193rd selection in the 2012 NHL Draft, the Buffalo Sabres are proud to select from one of his teams, Forward Jay Dickman.

"Dickman is big and thick. He finds a way to get into open holes and manages to score with a bursting release. Dickmans size and ability to score will make him a popular player in the league. He engorges with competitive spirit and is able to hammer people with alarming stamina."

At pick #194, in an attempt to reclaim some of the lost fanbase they left behind, the North Stars select, from Edina HS C Louie Nanne.

Gm (still smirking about Dickman) says: He's inherited his grandpa's work ethic and hockey sense and he's got time to grow into a size similar to North Stars legend "Sweet Lou from the Soo" during his upcoming four years with the Golden Gophers. He's already captain of the Hornets as a junior and shown a knack for timely scoring. We hope having Louie on the books will help with the healing in the State of Hockey."

Interview with Louie here and some hawkey highlights:http://vimeo.com/17833026

Grant pmed.

It wouldn't shock me at all if McGuire one day actually used "engorged" to describe a player's "compete level".

He was my pick if Boes was not around. Could be a nice project for a team picking late.

He went 84th overall to DET:

Quote:
84. Detroit - Teodors Blugers
"The Latvian centre has been a late riser in this draft and he shows much promise. We are aware that he played against weaker competition this year, but we are confident in his skills. He will join a strong program at Minnesota State next year that will help Teddy grow as a player. He has great playmaking skills and we look forward to having him with us in Detroit."
*I'll send eaglesmaster a PM just in case he doesn't check back here.
