so basically channing tatum aka duke gets killed and whoever was left in the first film. rock+others are the new "joes" including bruce willis. the storyline is the same. the 2nd one will probably look good.

Cannot agree on that one.

Not sure what to think of this one. The previews seem to show many of the Joe's being killed including Duke...not sure if I would like this at all.

June release scrapped ,, Pushed back to March of 2013

The studio is saying it is something to do with 3-D and increasing profit but traditionally the pushing back of a summer big $$$ film to non-summer time is an indicator of a movie that studio thinks is a turkey

Gotta laugh at the stupidity of pushing it back to march 2013 just to make it in 3D. Why couldnt they decide this month ago. Seriously. And the worst is that there are already poster, trailer, tv spot available.

Is it really a dump zone now? Hunger Games is the most recent movie to do very well with a March premier.

This article http://www.deadline.com/2012/05/g-i-...gn-box-office/ mentions that the 3-D is more for overseas, specifically Russia and China where it seems to be very popular.

Not only that, but a month before it was supposed to be released. All the money they spent marketing the film, just to pull the plug and generally piss people off. People are going to tune it out because they'll have heard about it too much.

I also wouldn't consider March a deathzone for movies. I'd think that's anywhere between Labor Day and Thanksgiving, if not Christmas. How many huge blockbusters are released in October?

I thought the first reason was bad:

Channing Tatum the Reason for G.I. Joe Retaliation Delays
Test audiences demand more of the 21 Jump Street star in G.I. Joe 2.

there is a longer explanation in this article

Big Problems Behind G.I. Joe 2′s Big Delay

I didn't know anything about Channing Tatum until I saw the first movie, and when you can say "John Cena would be better than this guy in this role", you have a problem.
