Beaten Rangers live it up

Just curious to see everyones reaction to this article in page six of the Ny post today. I'm not too sure how I feel about it. On the one hand it is their free time but partying right after the game might be a bit much.

Beaten Rangers live it up
Losing in the playoffs didn’t stop the New York Rangers from celebrating hard over the weekend. On Friday night, after being eliminated by the New Jersey Devils, Henrik Lundqvist, Brandon Dubinsky, Stu Bickel and Mats Zuccarello were spotted partying at 1Oak until late. The following night, Lundqvist and his group joined the rest of their teammates for dinner at Meatpacking District eatery Catch. The crew, which also included Brian Boyle, Brad Richards, Brandon Prust, Michael Del Zotto, Steve Eminger, Ryan McDonagh and Jeff Woywitka, “toasted with beers in hand” and gave each other shout-outs. But it didn’t stop there. They then headed to Catch Roof for more drinks, then around the corner to club SL, where they continued partying until the early hours. “It looked as if they’d won the championship,” said one witness. Another spy said, “They worked hard and deserve a beer to celebrate their achievement.” Fellow clubgoers seemed to agree, with many congratulating the team on their season.

In other news, depressed young men try to drown sorrows in alcohol. More at 11.

I hope they got real drunk, picked up some luscious babes and had a helluva blast
They deserve it and are human beings as far away in time from training camp as possible

PHEW

BTW When Sweden won the Gold Medal in the Olympics in 2006, one player on the Swedish National team "made it" at the celebrating after party with a titled princess from a European country... How is that as a reward for serving your country?

They had a good season and exceeded nearly everyone's expectations. Glad they're celebrating it.

They deserve it, nobody thought they'd make it this far. 1oak is a nice place, plenty of fun to be had in there.

who cares rofl? i party hard, and i expect warriors to do the same... especially with their limited opportunities to do so during the hockey season. i'm sure most of us are wasted throughout the year. (especially in the playoffs) they don't have the liberty.

Talk about over analyzing... If I just spent nine continuous month traveling, skating, blocking shots, etc.... I'd have a crazy ass weekend, too. Nothing to see here.

I hope they had hookers and midgets there as well, I would be disappointed if they didn't.

These guys can't have a night of drinking or even eating anything that's out of their normal schedulued times for how many months?!!!

Let 'em party as soon as it's over. They have even less time to get ready for next season.

Good for them.

And they are hardly the only ones who do this. I think Bissonnette has been parked in Vegas ever since Phoenix was eliminated based of his tweets.

This.

Hard day/week/month at work and you go out to drink. This has been going on since the stone age.

The season ended on Friday night, and the players are allowed to do whatever they want in their free time. They were either celebrating what they accomplished or drowning their sorrows in alcohol. No problems with that, they probably haven't partied since the regular season and are entitled to unwind and live it up after a grueling year.

I think sometimes people forget that these are human beings with life outside of hockey.

You guys have it covered. This is a failed attempt to rehash the sort of fan indignation that occurred upon seeing injured Patriots players club dancing the night after losing the Super Bowl.

Couple problems.

1. It wasn't literally the night after elimination.
2. Our guys weren't supposed to be fighting heavy ankle injuries.
3. We are hockey fans, and so we actually understand people, and that hockey players are people too.

Besides this wasn't just a couple of dumb kids. Seems like Hank led the charge here. Here's a guy who's a leader in the room, our longest tenured vet, a guy who's had success at this level, and one of the hardest working players in the league. I trust Hank to make decisions that wouldn't adversely affect the team.
