Wow...very interesting to read.
Do you really think that the Cataractes wwould be wiling to trade Zlobin though?
I mean, isnt he the teams top scorer?
What do you reckon?

Just looking and noticed that Moncton do not have any Import spots filled. Where do they Draft this year?

Well they will be rebuilders so Zlobin is attainable IMO. Getting a 17-year old for example that can play another 3 or 4 seasons is better than Zlobin for 1 year from Shawinigans perspective. If Moncton were to send them Brandon Shea (if he reports) and another prospect or pick it would benefit both clubs. Monctons short term depth up front and scoring need and for Shawinigan their losing a player for a year and adding some young talent or assets.

Would be sad to see Zlobin go from Shawinigan but there's a high possibility he'll be traded maybe to Moncton. The Cataractes don't have a lot of draft picks so they'll probably trade him to fill their bank of draft picks.

My Goodness, well I am quite surprised to hear this.
That would be ironic, Kiril Kabanov started out in Moncton, ends up in Shawinigan, while his buddy, Anton Zlobin, ends up the other way.

Will have to wait and see I guess.
Does the rumour have "legs?"

Little Black: thank you so much for the great info you sent, I really appreciatte it.

His offensive game out weighs his defensize flaws. He would be a nice addition to any QMJHL team next season. But I agree his knock is in the defensize game.

Definitely, but he wants to be a complete defenceman and work out in order to put on muscle, apparently the Mathesons are against the Q as a league.(See Matheson thread)

Thats really unfortunate. Only time will tell , well see who he gets drafted by and wether they opt he comes here or stays in the states.

It makes very little sense for Matheson to report to the Q after forfeiting on an occasion to showcase himself at the Mem Cup with the champs.

True. However he gets drafted this year and thats the difference. If his NHL team wants him in the Q, theres a very good chance he reports. Imo, it will depend on what team drafts him.

The fact that Shea has played for Moncton and lost his NCAA eligibility definitely means he won't be headed to the USHL. A trade is inevitable. He is an extremely smart kid but I feel his dad has spoiled him. Before headed to the Q, I've seen him play over in the States a couple times and he logged a ton of ice time. I feel he handles adversity much different than other players because everything has been spoon fed to him having an NHL scout father running the show in the background. His dad ensuring he's getting the top amount of ice time. He's a good player, and should do well this year but I feel he needs to learn that you can't just give up when it doesn't go your way.

I hardly doubt he'll ever play in the Q. He looks commited to stay in school and get his degree from Boston College. He had the chance to get to Memorial Cup this and didn't want to so it would be really surprising to see him get back in the Q next year.

Although Im waiting on a link. Aparently the Wildcats have sent Sherbrooke goaltender Jack Flinn. There was no mention what they got in return but it must have been something decent. I believe he was a 5th round pick and had a very solid season in midget . Most Moncton fans had him pencilled in for the backup role as a 17-year old. Danny Flynn must have gotten a solid offer. I cant wait to see what .. This probably also put an end to the Roman Will to Sherbrooke rumours..

Flinn could have been sent to Sherbrooke because Dubeau is coming to Moncton and that would allow Flynn to protect one extra player.
Expect maybe a 3rd-4th round pick for him as Sherbrooke already got Gervais-Chouinard as the #1....a backup is about worth that price.

Do you think . It is possible , hed be getting quite an increase of ice time. But on the other hand, if hes a fussy american maybe he dosnt want to report to an expansion team.. Unfortunately Shea can pretty much choose where he gets traded to because no team is going to trade for him unless he commits to reporting to them..

Surprising, but Shawn Boudreau is the sole player chosen by Sherbrooke.

Stephane Leroux is reporting Moncton and Sherbrooke will anounce a trade this weekend. Looks like this :

To Moncton : 1st overall Euro pick (Valeri Nickushkin)

To Sherbrooke : Jack Flinn , 1st round pick in 2013 , 3rd and 4th 2012

Very intresting because Moncton owns the 22nd overall pick in the CHL draft as well. They going to be picking twice , so they dont expect Roman Will to return.. Either way if that is who Moncton picks , its huge. The guy is going to tear it up!

That's a solid lineup but the 2nd line is a total wildcard.

Moncton needs to attract two top euro forwards and get another top-6 forward.

If they do that they'll join BLB, HAL and QUE as the top teams for next year IMO.

I like the defense and goaltenders.

If the Zolbin rumor has legs he'd look good on that line with Nickuskin

Their going to have the 1st overall euro pick. Nichuskin said hed report to whateveer chl team drafts him. I dont think he a wildcard whatsoever. Penny is already a Wildcats an theres a pretty good chance that they can bring over a good player with the 22nd overall pick as well. they wont be drafting dmen or goaltenders..
