Nothing would make me happier, but I just don't see Parise coming home to play. Not because of the team or their ability to win a championship. I think based upon how much worse the travel in the western conference and he would be under much more pressure playing in his hometown.

That being said I don't think the Wild will be outbid; they will offer as much money as anybody for both Parise and Suter. It will come down to the intangibles.

I do think Suter makes more sense since he's from Madison, WI and would have less pressure because he wouldn't be in too close a proximity to family and friends.

Joe Corvo to Ottawa ?

He demanded a trade out of here years ago, I really doubt he'll sign here, not that we'd want him anyway

Little to no chance Kubina comes back to the Lightning. Hal Gill? Our system emphasizes speed. Big no.

I would say there's a 30% chance Semin signs short term deal w/Rangers, 1 yr to up his value, get good shot at Cup. NY only needs 1-2 snipers. Not a fit w/Torts system, but I'm hoping he will be pressured to extensively modify that system, so maybe not as much a mismatch. Historically viewed as lazy, Semin showed more hustle this year, though he was playing for the contract. Do not want him on big multi year deal. The Winged Wheels are the favorite, offering comparable to a bit more $$ for more years, less stress + aggravation; but who is closer to the cup this year going forward?

Parise will go to Wild. Just a guess.

Why would Parise leave the Devils after this cup run?

Serious question. Name 1 reason please.

Suter to Detroit (made easy by today's news!)
Harding to Columbus
Penner to Columbus (unfortunately, but I think it happens)
Parise to Detroit

There isn't. This is what I keep telling everybody but nobody listens.

If they win the cup I could see him leave, if they come close and lose he'll definitely stay for more potential runs.

I'm pretty positive the Flyers will sign some of these FA dmen, and probably a 4th line center that can play defense.

I saw the Panthers making a run for Parise/Semin/Langenbrunner.. Whether they get them or not is another story but Tallon is going to want to add some talent to this great lineup we have now. I am hoping Versteeg and Garrison are re-signed and I can see him bringing back Sammelson as well. The Panthers did awesome this past season and with Markstrom and Huberdeau making the lineup next season, Tallon needs to add a superstar.

Money. With limited options in free agency. Cap going up again and plenty of teams near the cap floor he has potential to recieve one of the biggest contracts in history of NHL.

Depending on how Bickel and Schultz go this offseason, I could see the Rangers signing Sarich as a depth defenceman.
