Torts likes the devils as a team. He sounds jealous. I love it.
I think he somewhat jealous about the fact they are still playing and somewhat jealous about how deep of a team they are. Torts at least realizes this team needs more depth all around to compete. That message cannot be more accurate.
Tortorella is a great coach and a great person. Who gives a crap about how he handles his press conferences. I gained a ton of respect for him after seeing the relationship he has with that disabled kid from 24/7. He is a good man.
Torts is awesome. But thank god the Rangers have Sather, and I say this as a devils fan.
As a Rangers fan, I am pleased with the recent work of Sather, as well. What he gave up in the McDonagh and Prust trades are many examples of a good fromt office. I think David Conte is an underrated and oft overlooked member of the Devils front office. I hope the Rangers' Gordie Clark experiences the same success.

Good luck in the finals, Tundra.
Agree that he's been better of late. But with the SCF so close, they (ownership) may force him to do something destructive. The rangers don't need to do anything transformative. They just need to add some modest pieces to increase depth. Blowing up their minor league system for Nash is not the way to go IMHO.

They will just sign an American in Parise instead of blowing it up which is smart
Torts calling out Gaborik and Richards for play in ECF on Kay show...But says he is completely surprised with his team reaching as far as they did.
But now he is giving example of how the Devils kicked the Tampa Bay's tail in 2002 before they won it in 2003...He said they have to stay the course like that team did.
I think this fits well with my thread about "The Road to being a Champion..."
These Devil fans calling up are more concerned about the Rangers. smh
True. You'd think with their team going after a 3rd cup in 17 years, that they would pay more attention to the Kings than "continually ruminate about us in their usual paranoid delusional manner topped off with a healthy dose of inferiority complex about our fanbase."

Not completely accurate. Rangers coverage is rammed down our throats. Last night Hockeynight Live's SCF preview concluded with a 20 minute review of the Rangers going forward. Go figure.

No offense, but more NYR fans live in the area than NJD fans. HNL wants to cater to its primary audiences.
They still previewed it anyway, and besides, how long does the show last? They have more than enough time to cover everything.
