You shouldn't be bumped then - given your tenure. You have a legitimate complaint. I know for a fact that everyone is mapped based on their current location and view. Only exceptions are in the current 300s - row A got mapped to row 2, B to 3 and so forth. That's due to the more expensive Gallery seats in the first 2 rows.
But the point is that many people did get bumped, for no apparent reason and had no recourse except to get in line with everyone else not happy with their new seats
Games 1 and 2 were tough sells, especially in the Ottawa and Washington series when the games got closer. Most still went over face but there were definitely some that hit the $95 of 2nd round face value and some even under for game 1 against the Caps.
not even close. game 1 of the caps series if you were willing to wait you could have gotten into the building for 40 bucks.
Sorry if this has already been posted. I went back a couple of pages and didn't see anything. Too lazy to go all the way through the thread. I just spoke to my ticket rep; I had asked about the timing of the relocation/upgrade process. She said the plan is to start communicating relocation/upgrade appointment times next week with the relocation/upgrade process hopefully beginning the week of June 18, subject to change. Apparently, there will be a big difference. Instead of calling at your time to talk to someone about where you want to move to, we will be able to log onto a website at our specified time to be able to access a seat map that will show us what's available. Also, it's not going to be a single visit time frame. If you log on and don't find a new spot you are happy with, you will be able to check back in to see if new locations have opened up as other STH's move around. She wasn't sure how much time we were going to get though.
Technology is great, although I'm sure one of the main reasons they are rolling this out now is to keep heated discussions with unhappy STH's to a minimum.

I can see this new system causing tons of problems, however I personally like this idea.

I just went through this with the Jets. It works perfectly. Vey easy and efficient. For the Jets, I was given 72 hours. I was provided with a personalized pw that you log in with at the specific time. I'm happy Rangers are doing this.

Are you given a ticketmaster seating chart like this?
Are you given a ticketmaster seating chart like this?
Similar but better and it's also TM.
You will see the whole seat map of the arena with wections color coded by availability. Green means a lot and so on. You click on the section and will see the exact seats. You click on the seats you want and a clock with start - 10 minutes within which you will have to checkout. Otherwise, seats go back to the pool.
Where were you moved to? Seems like everyone was moved to the spot they should be except those on the edges of the 400's where the Balcony ends (409-410, 418-419). Many on the fringe were moved to the Balcony.
I was moved from 417 row A which is on the fringe but is not going away, to 215, which is nearby but way more expensive, and row 12, not row A.

The early longer tenure STHs will have a field day for a short period of time as there will be hardly any competition.
Also, once you checked out you cannot go back in.
I'm sorry, I'm not sure I follow. What are early longer tenure STHs? Do you mean the subscribers who are the longest tenured who get to go first? In that case, yes, they don't have much competition...but at the same time by virtue of the fact they are the longest tenured they most likely already have the seats they want.

Yes, you are correct. That's why I think the Jets upgrade had the STHs with the best seats go first.
My understanding is that the rangers upgrade will be based on tenure only.

Yeah you got screwed than. You should have been in 413 or whatever that end section is with the new numbering. 417 is the last 400 section under the Balcony IIRC. Not only did they screw you on that front, you didn't even get a $50 price point. If anyone has a case to be mad, it's you.

Well I think doing it by tenure is the fairest way to go. Someone who has been a subscriber for 50 years should have the first chance at any seats that were not renewed.
I was told we would be able to go back in, but it wouldn't surprise me it that really wasn't the case.
On the one hand it would seem to me that you should be able to go back in to see whether something that you perceive as better comes along...but the problem could be that towards the end you'd have too many people "logged in" which could lead to server issues/crashes.

Maybe..that was just the Jets policy as you are allowed to upgrade once in the process and have 72 hours to do so. In previous years' upgrades, were we allowed to upgrade more than once by phone? I recall being allotted a time slot and have x number of hours to call.
I'm sure all STH's will be getting an email soon fully explaining the process. Rangers are usually good with things like that.
If it's the same as the Jets, you will receive an email about a week before your time slot with your login info, time slot and a link to the site which has a video demo explaining the process.
Once the process begins, the early folks can let the rest of us here know what the exact available inventory is. It's really transparent compared to the other upgrades I had by phone in which you are relying on the mood, patience and reliability of the rep on the other line.
