Damnit.

Oh well, at least we're staying put, rather than falling to a crappier pick.

I knew it was New Orleans. Stern probably promised the new owner Anthony Davis if he buys that mess of a franchise. Its always ****ing rigged!

Wonder if any teams are willing to trade down. Hopefully the Raps trade up, lol.

It's not necessarily New Orleans yet. This isn't the NHL lottery where the team that wins automatically moves up to 1st. Teams can move up to any of the top 3 picks. So for all we know, NO just goes from 4th to 3rd and Charlotte still wins. Or Washington wins, and some combo of Charlotte/NO sit 2nd and 3rd.

EDIT: and of course I say this and New Orleans still wins.

Gotta love the Wesley Mathews smirk when it became their pick.

Trust me, I knew it would be NO. I know Stern all too well.

So, Jeremy Lamb? Kendall Marshall? Jarred Sullinger?

I'm assuming we'd jump at the chance to take Barnes, but I doubt he'll be available at 8.

Raps overachieved so many times this season.

I know it's great for the team to win, but when a draft, such as this one, has so many question marks outside the top 5 it really makes you wish the team crash and burned this season.

I'm not sure I like Barnes. I'd almost rather take a shot at Perry Jones. He's drawn some Lamar Odom comparisons, and that might work well with the combo of Valanciunas/Bargs/DeRozan/Calderon. Sullinger is a post player and we've got too many of those. Marshall might be a possibility too. He'd get a half-season+ to be mentored by Calderon as well unless they flip Jose during teh off-season.

8th is kind of the suckiest spot to be in. It's too late to get the good players that we could use, and too early to really start picking against the grain on the 2nd/3rd tier guys.

EDIT: FWIW, ESPN reporter Chad Ford's lottery machine seems to like us picking Syracuse SG Dion Waiters from the 8 spot.

Oh well it is possible we could still end up with a good player, Jones has the potential to be a star in the NBA if he can put things together, Lamb is another guy I like and have liked for a while. It is disheartening that the Hornets won the draft considering new ownership and what not, smells rather fishy tbh.

Anyhow lets hope BC has a few tricks up his sleeve this off season, I would probably move Bargs before I move Jose, tbh I don't know why Jose gets **** on so much around here, his numbers are decent and considering what would potentially be replacing him why trade him at this point in time. IMO they guy who should be on his way out is and should be Bargs. Guys too dam soft has the tools to be a dominate forward but just seems like he's not willing to push himself past what he's already accomplished.

The NBA lottery seems so rigged. A team that lost their superstar, and is owned by the league gets AD. Come on.

We just have to pray Lamb or Barnes falls to 8, because I have little interest in Sullinger/Lillard/PJ3.

I always felt the lottery should be done in public. Why it's done behind closed doors is beyond me and that goes for all sports.

It just screams tampering.

I like Calderon a lot and fully acknowledge that what he brings to the team offensively is very hard to replicate. But this is a team that is rebuilding, and Calderon is over 30 and in the last year of his contract. He's going to be a very attractive trade deadline asset for teams that want another PG heading into the playoffs.

Bargnani on the other hand, really looked much improved last season before he got that calf injury and rushed back twice. Maybe he wasn't getting 7 rebounds a game, but he was playing much more aggressively and scoring very easily.

it's the same deal as teh NHL lockout lottery. "OMG the Pens are imploding! Better give them Crosby!"

I don't believe it's necessarily out-and-out rigged every year, but it wouldn't surprise me if the odds are more skewed than they lead us to believe.

I'm also not against taking a chance on Jones. At 8th we're not getting a top-flight rotation piece anyway, so might as well swing for the fences.

The NBA is so sleezy. I called it as soon as Chris Paul orchestrated his trade out of Nola, that they were going to win it. The draft lottery is rigged.

On the bright side Andrew Wiggins to Raptors in 2015?
