Can I ask why you have Brennan ahead of McNabb? I think McNabb's skillset and potential ceiling makes him a better player than Brennan... But just wondering why you think otherwise

McNabb is probably #2 after Armia. He's definitely not behind Brennan

I think they're very close in potential and skillset. You could switch them up and I wouldnt blink. I just think that TJ has been a bit of a late bloomer in every league he plays in and will be the better defenseman

Edmonton fans need to realize that Buffalo isn't going to move two of its top prospects in a deal for anything short of Eberle, RNH, Hall or the 2012 first.

The value isn't there from Buffalo - they would definitely have to add (for any of the aforementioned assets). But they aren't moving both McNabb and Adam for anything else on the EDM roster or in the pipeline.

And you need to realize we aren't moving any of them, unless Myers+ is coming the other way.

I'm not sure what's worse: the post you're responding to, or your implication that it would take TWO nhl all-starts to get one of the "big four."

They're not close in skillset and McNabb has far more potential. Brennan is much more offensive and has more speed while McNabb doesn't have the speed yet but has a much more physical game. If McNabb improves his skating he can be a top pair defenseman. There's no chance of that for Brennan.

Omark is worth a 4th and what I hear Belanger days are number in Edm. Since some Buff fans are being silly I thought I would join the fun. To be honest Edmonton would pass on this offer, doesn't really address any of the needs for Edmonton

McNabb offers a tidy package of size, mean, and passing skills that the Sabres can't really afford to deal unless it is part of a package for a talented forward (particularly a center). It doesn't seem likely that they would be shopping the Oilers with him as currency.

Adam on the other hand, I could see them moving him in a lateral deal if some team is interested in a like-for-like forward swap. What would the Oil be bartering with, out of curiousity?

That's fine. I realize that completely. An EDM fan asked what it would cost for the two of them. We don't have to or want to trade McNabb and Adam.

They aren't NHL all-stars. You're right. But you're not getting McNabb and Adam for anything else in your system. Not Hemsky. Not Horcoff, Gagner or Smyth. It's one of the four previously mentioned assets.

And I clearly said that they wouldn't be enough to get it done alone.

Thank you. Lord

I don't think there's a deal here. Like one poster said, maybe a 2013 1st, with a conditional pick.

McNabb is one of the best Sabres prospects, with a tantalizing blend of size, physicality, and offensive potential. Adam is still young, and while he struggled after his first two months last year, is still a good prospect.

Hard to make a deal when all the Oilers have of worth is very good young players that they won't want to trade.

What about the idea of Adam for Paarjarvi?

2 struggling young players in need of a change of scenery. Oilers get a future 2/3 C while Buffalo gets a potential top 6 winger

There may be something to Adam for Paajarvi (though I don't like Paajarvi much). The value is good - Buffalo may have to add a little.

Fire up the shredder. Oilers are weak on the LW, and have similar players in Gagner, Lander, Pitlick, Martindale who all are/potential to be 2/3 line centres

I believe they have been playing Adam on the LW for a bit now but he could translate to center on a team like Edmonton, he has size and could battle Gagner easily for the 2nd line center position(if some don't trust Hall at center?) I am sure some right wingers that have a right handed shot wouldn't mind translating to the other wing but then again Hartikainen, Hamilton and Cornet will be batttling for LW roster spots in the near future.

Lander is probably going to end up as Edmonton's third line center but I also believe he can battle for the 2nd line center position in a few years. Pitlick has been playing the wing for a while now and will probably stay as a winger, Vande Velde could become Edmonton's 4th line center when Belanger is gone.. Martindale!?? really? he is what one calls a project and has to make the AHL first of all, where he will probably spend a lot of years developing but he has decent size and yeah there is potential.
