Messier was voted in at No. 10. (A little early for my liking, but I've seen polls on this site with him at No. 6, so it could be worse).

Once we get to somewhere around 22-25, I could see Kurri being chosen for the add. He's had some mentions for an add already. Francis has also had a couple mentions for an add, but I'd be surprised if he's added before Round 30. LaFontaine's the best American-born forward ever, but if we only go to No. 30, I'd be surprised if he's added. In fact, I'd be surprised if he's added before Round 50.

As for Gainey. I love Gainey. I could justify him being added at about Round 30-40. His career accomplishments speak for themselves. Best defensive forward ever. A leader, a winner, a clutch player through and through. He won the most important trophy in hockey six times. He won the most individual award, the Conn Smythe Trophy. But I'd take a guy like Geoffrion, Sakic, Moore or even Cyclone Taylor. (My "add Cyclone Taylor" is coming very, very soon).

This poll isn't based just on points. If it was, Dionne would have beaten Clarke and Trottier. (He has one vote thus far. I want to know who thought he deserved a vote at this point). Look at a lot of the guys chosen thus far: Howe, Richard, Beliveau, Messier Mikita, Clarke and Trottier were terrific all-round players. Lindsay is another excellent pick. Hull could take care of himself physically.

Ted Lindsay in the lead? Might I ask why?

P.S. I voted The Big M, he'd already be on the board if he hadn't been ruined by the Lafs

9 time all-star, 8 on the 1st team. Single season record for assists with 55 in 1949-50. ONLY player to have led the NHL in goals (47-48), assists (49-50, 56-57), points (49-50), and penalty minutes (58-59).

Need any more?
