But old Bowman had a goalie that may become a HoFer. And Wings had good goaltending with CuJo or Hasek...

He also won 2 back to back Chris Osgood and one with Tom Barrasso. And it's not like Hasek was a spring chicken when he won his. He was already 37 or 38 at the time.

Thomas had the best Goalie season ever as a 37 year old

Hasek at 37 = better than most ever will be

Barrasso was a good goalie too, Osgood may become a Hall of Famer. That's not really what I consider cheap/average goaltending.

Both of those guys were okay goalies backstopping powerhouse teams. Osgood really only put up playoff standing on his head numbers late in his career.

There is only one Vezina between those two guys though you could argue that Osgood should maybe have won the Conn Smythe over Zetterberg. Both guys were closer to Nemo than Thomas or even Quick.

Cujo lost his job to Legace didn't he? His time with Wings was not impressive as he allowed some brutal weak goals at worst moments

I don't care, because Niemi is a 3.5+ million #1 goalie in the NHL. Something Crawford isn't.

Wings weren't cheap or "average". They knew that goaltending - especially in the POs - is important. They paid those goalies too and didn't go that cheap

right, but the point was that they added goaltending - not for cheap

Horrendous deal from Chicago's point of view.

Enroth isn't valuable to the Hawks at all until (if) he proves that he is a starting-caliber goaltender in the NHL.

I like Sekera's game.

Still no. Kane's value to the Hawks it too high to make any trade worth it for the other team.

I don't understand what you're proposing...you want us to trade Kane, Olesz & Crawford for Vanek, Myers, and Miller?

I really hope I've misunderstood you.

Either Kane for Vanek and Myers, or Kane, Olesz, and Crawford for Miller and one of Vanek/Myers.

Don't really want anything from Buffalo for Kane. A must is a sick talented young forward on a cheap contract, and I don't see anything of that sort in their system?

I agree - I was just showing you what Bubba meant in his post.

Vanek/Myers is a fantastic return as far as talent goes, but the money doesn't work out very well. Vanek's contract is pretty terrible.

Plus I don't want Kane to go anywhere as it is.
