I come in peace !

Don't know if this has been mentioned but G Frederik Andersen (Frölunda) Has turned down a contract offer.

He goes on to say, that he feels he would drown in the AHL and that he does not see himself making the NHL team in Carolina anytime soon as they are pretty covered in G. And he does not want to step back from his starting position in the SEL.

Yikes, so no Andersen or Murphy... Makes it really odd timing for Murphy to leave, I wonder how much $$ his KHL team offered him.

Just noticed that Mahalak didn't get an invite to the US wjc summer evaluation camp. I, for one, am quite surprised by this.

.... the hell? yeah, he should have been one of the favorites for a spot this year. Wonder what happened, other then them likely sticking with their usual USNTDP boys.

Olsen on the roster by chance?

edit: nope, no Keegan Lowe either

I'm not sure what happened either, Dave. He could still get an invite to the main camp but it'll be an uphill battle making the team.

Rask got an invite to the Swedish camp but as a returning player he's likely to make the team again.

Not one of our prospects...yet, but I just noticed Plymouth took Josh Wesley in the 5th round of the OHL Priority Selection.

Another Carolina Hurricanes U16 player went in the 12th round to the Sault, as well.

Yep, he's NTDP bound for next season, will be interesting to see how he does and what route he takes before turning pro.

So, this whole situation is getting a lot weirder as it's rumored Andersen is close to signing a deal with Anaheim (Who just drafted him on re-entry) and are expecting him to play in the AHL with Norfolk.

So he goes from a basically guaranteed backup role with the Canes to playing in the AHL with Norfolk?

Serves him right lol.

And now confirmed by Renaud Lavoie.

Certainly not going to be rooting for him throughout his career, that's for sure. Doesn't fall under the "Jack Johnson" category, but doesn't feel good...

If following him on twitter is any indication, the kid seems really weird. I don't know how that pertains to his situation with us, but there it is.

I can't really explain it. Goalie weird? I guess part of it is that it's hard for me to picture a Swedish goaltender liking rap music as much as he does. Pair that with a few of his tweets and his decision making in this case and it's just.... he's a goalie.

I think Andersen probably just realized he pretty much has no choice now. Either sign with Anaheim or pretty much be committed to stay in Europe for the long haul. Maybe he also feels his chances are better behind Hiller than behind Ward who is 2 years younger than Hiller and consistently plays a lot more games.

Did you guys not have a development camp? I was curious to see how Murphy would do in such a camp the 2nd time around...
