thanks was just about to ask this, I imagine a flurry of signings today then. He should be brought in for sure. Likely play in Europe like Fast is then come over together 2013 camp
Jay Grossman represents Lindberg. Grossman also has a Swedish kid goalie drafted by the Wild in 2010. Grossman drove a hard bargain with the Wild. The kid was a 6th rounder and he would have been drafted higher than 6th this month. Was Grossman looking for money than 6th round pick money? The Wild signed him yesterday after it looked like he wouldn't sign. Lindberg will be a free agent if he doesn't sign with the Rangers. He is a late 91 kid. He missed being taken in 2009 by a month. Usually these kids become free agents instead of going back into the draft if they are not signed in 2 years.

I would think that G is a better prospect than Lindberg. I imagine he signs with the Rangers today
if for some reason he does not what do the Rangers get for compensation?
Only unsigned 1st round picks bring 2nd round pick compensation. The Rangers got Lindberg from the Cherepanov comp pick in 2009. They traded their pick to the Leafs for Nik Antrpov. The Rangers took Werek with the comp pick. They soured on him. Traded to PHX for Lindberg. Werek did nothing in the AHL.

eeeeeew still stinks getting nothing. This is a what if right now. See no reason why he won't sign especially if he the rumor is true that he will play another yr in Europe like Fast anyway
I heard yesterday that he had signed but the tweet disappeared.quite strange. All indications were that he would sign and play another year in the SEL and then report to camp with Fast in 2013.
He is good buddies with Tim Erixon. They played together in Skellefteå the 2010/2011 season. Interesting to see if that is a good thing or a bad thing right now... Very interesting actually
I'm sure there is a ton of paperwork being filed through the NHL offices. Probably just waiting on the official word of a signing. Can't imagine they'd let this kid slip through their fingers.

They're cousins, aren't they? I know not all cousins are close, but it probably isn't a bad thing.
Well Skellefteå is kind of rural, but it ain't no West Virginia..? Lol
72.000 inhabitants.
Tim & Oscar are 2nd cousins. How close, I dunno, but regardless of the kinship they've played for the same team since they were like 7 or 8, coached by Tim's father Jan. So they are bound to know each other very well. B.t.w. also part of that group coached by Jan Erixon, was also Adam Larsson, David Rundblad & Petter Granberg. Before Jan Erixon got into the junior program, Skelleftea hadnt had a talent go in the draft for about ten years. Jan's group was a miracle group.
Looks like Lindberg went unsigned. He was the last remaining piece from the Cherepanov compensation pick where we picked Ethan Werek and flipped him for Lindberg.
Hope the news is just taking a bit to trickle out, would be bad asset management to just let him go. Sure he had a subpar season out in Sweden, but he's young and a beast in the circle, something the Rangers could desperately use down the line.
Totally different, Fast is a pure offensive threat that needs a bit of work on his shot and 10 lbs of muscles. After that, 30 goals on an annual pace is not out of the question IMO
