Lindback to TOR?

Quote:
Two goalies I believe are on the radar for the Toronto Maple Leafs in their quest to upgrade their goaltending are veteran UFA-to-be Tomas Vokoun and young Nashville backup Anders Lindback (RFA on July 1).

What could we get for Lindy? If Suter leaves, I could see something around Lindback+ for Schenn happening. What would the + be?

It would have to be pretty substantial--

Schenn still holds the value, at least, of a mid-1st.

Lindback, generously, holds the value of a 2nd.

That's not an easy gap to close for Nashville.

As an outsider to both teams.. based on what I have read about Schenn and his progression there may not need to be a +. Then again I could be way off...

Can't see Burke going after another young, relatively unproven goaltender. The Leafs need an established veteran number one because they have so many young goaltenders in the organziation who need time to develop.

Yes you are, considering the opinion of HF posters and the opinion Leafs management differ greatly.

Shalla would be a nice fit on the Leafs in a couple of years... And he's from Ontario!

That looks about right--assuming the 2nd is 35th overall.

Wilson > Schenn
Lindback < 35th.

(I also agree that this move makes zero sense for Toronto. Harding, Vokoun, etc. all seem to be better options--)

Leafs already have Reimer and Scrivens. Why would they trade for another unproven goalie?

Josh Harding is our best bet moving forward without giving up assets.

I totally see what everyone is saying about the unproven thing. Personally, I agree with you guys, I'm just exploring LeBrun's idea here.

Ehhh maybe. Not a bad proposal. I'd like to explore other options, but I might take it as a last resort.

Now that would make sense but you dont understand.

The Leaf fans on HF Boards dont wanna do the Canucks any favors so they would rather be shot and peed on rather than get an actual franchise goalie to help their team .

So Burkie must now go out and re sign Raycroft or Toskala. Maybe Josh Harding can handle 65 games and the enormous Toronto media.

Hey, why pay when u can get half baked crap as a UFA right?

Wilson, the coach who essentially ruined Schenn for the time being, is no longer our coach.

I can't wait to see what he can do under a coach who actually knows how to coach defensmen. AKA Carlyle.

At least I acknowledged it. I don't get why every one comes off with that holier than thou attitude that does nothing to promote discussion but instead furthers argument.

Seems unlikely, we need a Vetran.

Perhaps you missed the part where everyone in this thread clearly stated Lindback+. It's quite possible, seeing that you must have also missed all of the mod posts regarding spam (i.e. smilies instead of adding anything relevant to the conversation)

Why not?

What makes his value significantly higher than Schenn's?

LOL...bitter much? It has absolutely nothing to do with "not wanting to do favours", it has entirely everything to do with giving up good assets to aquire an albatross contract.

so what kind of plus are you going to add that is ACTUALLY going to make it worth our while?

A 2nd? What exactly? If the Leafs are going to take a chance on a goalie that has not proved one single thing in the NHL I would take Bernier over any other goalie not named Schneider.
