Doors Open Winnipeg - MTSCentre

Yesterday, as part of "Doors Open Winnipeg" there were tours of the MTSCentre. Curious to know if anyone here went and if so, what you got to see (i.e. Jets dressing room, workout facilities, press box, etc.)

I went to a couple of places and it was pretty cool.

The Legislature building, Union station, Aboriginal Community Center (former CPR station) and City Hall all had guided tours.

There was a 4 page insert in last Thursday Free Press. We wnet to the Bank Of Montreal and to the Legislature. Both we pretty interesting. I did not go to MTSCentre because I assummed long lines and I was not sure what you would see. I believe this is an annual event in Winnipeg but I am not totally sure of that.

I did a tour just before it originally opened for the moose, but it could have been neat to see how things have changed with the Jets. Was too busy though. They do this every year, I'm pretty sure.

I did a tour in December, the day after a home game against the Caps. I was able to watch them practice for 20 minutes as they were still in town.

The building is quite small. There are very few surprises.

I have toured the Bell Centre and Rogers Arena and those have many hidden rooms, lounges, alumni areas... unlike the MTS.

If you have any questions, let me know.
