This is a thread about Gaborik, not about Parise or Nash. Keep it that way.
Relax...its obvious that a discussion about Gaborik being injured includes possible replacements for his production, especially one being the most sought after UFA July 1st, and another one of the top trade pieces this off-season.
I dislike our fan base. Not that I necessarily disagree with 100% of what some of you are saying, but the attitude towards this team whenever they don't win is so ugly. Now the season is over and it's still ugly. Some guys could have been better. Some guys played hurt. Some guys, I'll agree, are boneheads. Still, this team far exceeded every single person here's expectations this season. Stop being such haters of your own players.
I say I dislike certain element of our fan base especially how it is contrasted with the make up of THIS Rangers team. I'm trying to explain it as an immaturity issue of these posters but unfortunately it is not always the case.
Gaby get well and healthy and get back in the uniform and on the ice as soon as possible in time for next season and the new run at the Cup! You have been a worthy Ranger so far, in spite of circumstances.

I won't go this far, but I agree with you completely. In the another thread, everyone and their mom was senselessly bashing Gaborik for not showing up in the playoffs. Now what are they saying?
This team gave it 100% all season, I have never been more proud of a Rangers team from the last 15 years. Some guys I wish played a bit better in the playoffs, for sure, but I will never question their effort or desire to win, because all season long they showed nothing but heart. Gabby was one of the main reasons we were a #1 seed with a DOMINANT regular season (especially the first half).

Not sure where this came from. I don't see any Nash/Parise discussion in the past few pages. At the start there was some, but it was a direct response to Gaborik's injury. I understand and appreciate the fact that you're trying to keep the threads on topic, but this one has been pretty good compared to some others over the past few days.
Back on topic though. This guy needs to get healthy and the coaching staff needs to let him take his time getting in game shape. November/December is not too late in the season to make a big impact. I'd rather him come back healthy and late than have him out there hurt. He just can't produce at all when he's hurt.
didn't gaborik fall into a post shoulder first earlier in the season? like mid-season early? i don't remember the game., but somebody DEF flew into the post pretty hard. could've sworn it was Gaborik. Might've been MDZ though.
We don't need to destroy the team. He'll be healthy by the playoffs. That's what we need. We had an awful start to the season this year, too, and look where it got us.
Maybe it'll give Dubinsky a reason to be useful again.
I was ragging on Gabby pretty bad during the playoffs, so I'm here to eat my crow as I rightfully should. This was a pretty serious injury that he was playing through. Get well soon Gabby

You know all of this, how? We don't know how long the process will be.
-He can't be counted on going into the season.
-We now need to replace those goals.
Get over yourself and be objective.
Get over MYSELF?
You've **** on Gaborik ALL OFF-SEASON because he's a "soft lazy Euro", and then it comes out that he played with an injury and now he's unreliable and STILL useless?
Stick to a story, man. YOU be objective. Get your biases behind you and realize the facts are that he'll be back WAY before the playoffs, which is when we need him. If we can't survive a month without him, I guess he was more important to this team than you keep trying to suggest, yeah?
You're usually a great poster but we can't discuss Gaborik. I get too angry.
How do I know? BECAUSE THE RECOVERY TIME IS THAT LONG.
You keep saying get over yourself, which is hilarious, because i'm the one defending a member of the TEAM while you keep shoving your own agenda in everyone's face, man.
The question I have is, did Torts have any idea about the extent of the injury? I'm assuming he did, if Gabby was taking meds/injections. If he did, I'm surprised he singled him out along with Richards, as guys that could've gievn more against the Devils/playoffs. Weird.
Good question. Coach must have known, even if Gaborik wasn't totally forthcoming, just by watching him in games and practice.

Well, you've obviously got a better grasp of the situation in the 1 month you've been here than I do, right? I wasn't here much over the past few days. I'm here now.

I'd be more relaxed if you took discussion regarding the off-season and related roster moves to the appropriate thread. That's what that thread was created for.
idk if this was posted yet, but this was in december. two handed chop on the shoulder that sent him into the boards awkwardly after scoring a breakaway goal against the flyers. unpenalized play, could've been a suspension. high chop.
I doubt a lot of will take this as a reason ever question this guys heart. But that seems like tons of heart to me.
That's what I had suspected, good work Gabby you're tougher than I thought.

I may not like your attitude at times and don't always agree with you but you're right.
I am not entirely sure why everyone is so pissed at you for mentioning this, it's true. If Gaborik's injury proves anything it's the fact that we absolutely need another top 6 scoring wing. What if Gaborik hadn't played through the injury? We would have been toast way earlier. The fact that he limped through the PO's and scored at .55 PPG is commendable. The team needs some insurance though, and Gaborik is kind of fragile.
