Honestly, I had less apprehension about the Devils being down 3-2 to the Panthers than I did about being up 3-1 on the Flyers.

This team is a roller coaster, for sure... but it makes the victories that much more enjoyable.

Did Langenbrunner really pick the Kings to beat us in 5 or 6?

I gotta say, I haven't watched any of the Kings press conferences since this round started, but from what I've heard they've gone out of their way to be classy and respect our team. Again, as far as I know, haven't watched/read many interviews, just what Chere and TG post.

If Langenbrunner really said that, than it's locker room bulletin board material for the Devils. I'll just leave it at that.
Almost every round we've stuck it too every disgruntled ex Devil we played against. Madden, Clemmenson, Rupp... perhaps for the Finals, the disgruntled ex-Devil we'll stick it to will be Langenbrunner? (even though he's not playing?)

Yes Langenbrunner was on off the record, a show on TSN and said kings in 5 or 6. He said he has a lot of friends on jersey, but after playing the kings in the playoffs, he does not think anyone can beat them.

whatever.... all i know is the blues were one of the most overrated teams all season, reminded me of the rangers with even less scoring. once their defense and goaltending went to the crapper, they faltered. i honestly thought the sharks would have upset them in the 1st round. langenbrunner did compliment marty though in that interview.

Eh, cool he complimented him. Guess I'm still somewhat bitter, especially now with him picking against us.

I remember in '91 being quite proud of the fact that "it took the Cup champs to beat us", and at the end Paul Coffey called our first round series the toughest of them all. In the end, we were still first round losers. It's better for Langenbrunner's self esteem if the Kings win the Cup, and we are well aware how fragile his ego is.

he wasn't malicious, just thinks the kings are too good since his team got destroyed by them. i don't think beating the blues was some great feat though, but that's just me.

Just win game 2 or 3. Don't go down 3-0. I feel like this Devils team will get better the more they stick around, and I don't think Home/Away is going to matter as much here.

Haven't read this thread yet but did anyone know that Edge and Beth Phoenix were at Game 1?

- WWE Diva Beth Phoenix and WWE Hall of Famer Edge were spotted attending the New Jersey Devils vs. Los Angeles Kings hockey game on Wednesday night in Newark, New Jersey.

Didn't know Edge was a Devils fan...

Langenbrunner's a jerk, but I'd rather be here without him and him picking against us that being home with him. Because if he were still a Devil, there'd be no way the Devils would still be playing.

I know I should stay away from the main board but I just can't help it. My annoyance towards Kings fans/bandwagoners is starting to reach Flyers/Rangers levels. God forbid you suggest that it's possible that the Devils could win this series.

I keep alternating between confidence and dread. Unlike many of those Kings fans, I actually respect the opponent and the fact that this Kings team is on such a roll with such a strong roster is scary. On the other hand, the Devils are definitely capable of playing much better than they did in game 1 and have shown a great ability to bounce back and adjust in the playoffs thus far.

Stressful. I just want game 2 to start already!

Uh oh, someone didn't pick the Devils but picked the team that beat his team? And he's an ex-Devil? TORCHES AND PITCH FORKS!

Guys always pick the team that beat them, it's what they do. I guarantee you ask the majority of the Canucks and Coyotes who's gonna win, they say LA too. The Panthers, Flyers and Rangers will all say something along the lines of "well the Kings are a tough team from what I've seen, but the Devils have a great goalie, they forecheck really hard and they just don't quit. I think they'll win." What are they gonna say? "Man eff those guys, the Kings/Devils are gonna kill the Kings/Devils." Yeah that's not gonna happen.
