I switched from Bell (didnt have Fx or it was a premium channel, cant recall exactly) to Telus Optik about a couple of months ago and Fx was available and isnt a premium channel either. Same with AMC. Also after bundling internet and phone with the tv, it is much, much cheaper than Bell. You also get your choice of a free IPad (samsung) or laptop, or xbox I believe (on a 3yr contract). Or you can just use the gift towards your bill.

MAIN CARD (FX)

Jake Ellenberger vs. Martin Kampmann (dec) -- gonna go against the grain here. We could definitely be in for a short fight if Ellenberger can find Kampmann's chin early, but if Kampmann gets out of the second round then I like his chances. Ellenberger has a tendency to fade later in fights and this is a five-rounder. If he comes into the third looking like he did against Diego Sanchez then I think this fight is Kampmann's for the taking.

Mike Chiesa vs. Al Iaquinta (KO) -- Chiesa's striking looked reaaaaal questionable during his stint on the show and Iaquinta showed that he hit hard. Can't see Chiesa pulling another win out of his butt. He'll be more beat up going into this fight given the short layoff this season as well.

Max Holloway vs. Pat Schilling (sub) -- don't know much about either of these guys. Both looked way out of their depth in their UFC debuts, albeit against good opponents.

Jonathan Brookins vs. Charles Oliveira (dec) -- I think Brookins' sub grappling is good enough to avoid getting into trouble with Oliveira. I don't think he'll want to spend too much time striking, but if he gets takedowns and works from top position I can see him getting the judges' nod.

Justin Lawrence vs. John Cofer (dec)
Myles Jury vs. Chris Saunders (dec)
Daron Cruickshank vs. Chris Tickle (sub)
Cristiano Marcello vs. Sam Sicilia (sub)
John Albert vs. Erik Perez (TKO)
Jeremy Larsen vs. Joe Proctor (dec)

We don't get Rogers in BC anymore, unfortunately. My Shaw bill including UFC 145 was well over 200 bucks this month. Seems a bit much.

Another classic Kim Winslow moment. If she was a man she wouldn't have a job.

Awesome KO from Lawrence. He'll be fighting at 145 in the future I imagine, so he'll have a good opportunity to be a long-term fixture in the UFC.

Fun story but I don't think Chiesa is a big prospect or even the best fighter on that season.

Some great performances tonight. Holloway looked sensational in there, he has great stand-up. If he can keep fights off his ground he'll have a good time in the UFC.

Oliviera with a big win too. Aldo is the only other guy to finish Brookins.

And yeah, Chiesa completing the feel-good story with a nice win. Good stuff.

Feel-good story of the year

Though he's gonna realllly have to sharpen up that striking if he wants to keep winning now.

Kampmann with the big knees to end Ellenberger's winning streak. Nice comeback win!

Kampmann vs. Condit and the winner faces GSP in early 2013? Condit may be apprehensive about risking his interim title, but I am sure the UFC can make it worth his risk ($$$).

Kampmann again. He has the heart of a lion and great finish with those knees in the clinch.

I'm up for Condit vs either Kampmann or Hendricks at this point. I'd rather Condit/Hendricks and Kampmann v Rory MacDonald to be honest.
But whatever they do, just get Condit a title defense.

If Ellenberger had won would you be saying he should get Condit?

Looks like Kampmann will be under suspension for a broken nose.

A Kampmann vs Hendricks fight to see who gets Condit would be good, but would have Condit sitting out too long.

They are going to have to pick one of them I think.

May as well be Kampmann as he has already beaten Condit.

That chick ref made a huge booboo tonight.

Anybody hear a verbal tap from Albert?

Lots of good performances tonight. Some good fighters coming out of this edition of tuff.

Ellenberger was a bit higher on the ladder than Kampmann coming into the fight, so yes if he had won I think he was ready. He was on a tremendous streak while Kampmann had a couple losses mixed in. The losses were close decisions, but they were still losses.

And no, that Albert 'tap' was just brutal reffing.

Kampmann/Hendricks should be on the Montreal card which will presumably have a main event of GSP/Condit.

Well, for what it's worth Dana gave John Albert his win bonus: http://www.5thround.com/118063/john-...f-live-finale/

Quote:
Although Albert never tapped, referee Kim Winslow stepped in and called the fight to the surprise of everyone inside The Pearl at Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada.

She claimed Albert verbally submitted, but “Prince” vehemently and immediately denied it. Winslow stated she was miked, but on replay nobody could hear Albert’s verbal tap.

That’s because it didn’t happened.

“No, I never submitted,” Albert emphatically stated. “I was trying to get out. I started to yell and then the referee stopped it.”
I didn't hear anything, but if Albert says he was "starting to yell" then he's basically admitting that he was going to verbally submit, so whatever. It didn't look to me like he was going to get anything out of that except a broken arm.

At any rate I don't have a ton of sympathy for a guy who locks in a triangle for two minutes, and not only can he not finish it, but he gets his face turned to hamburger at the same time
