Taras would fit ideally PIT or CHI.

yea...try again. when exactly has he disappeared? as it when he captained the russian wjc teams these past 2 seasons? or being a top 10 scorer in the khl last season, while scoring 10 goals and 6 assists in 15 playoff games?

typical russian winger is the exact opposite of what he is.

Lame.

You cleary have no idea who this kid is. He is nothing near the words you are using to describe him.

Give him a shot before you go of the deep end, huh.

Pens can try to trade Staal for him. Doubt Blues will agree though...

seriously, i'll be happy to get wrong. But i'm really worrying about his adaptation in NA. He hasn't met a strong defensive-minded system yet. He isn't a franchise-calibre player and desperately needs a proper team. A russian bud also will be a big +.

How do you know he's not a franchise caliber player? Have you actually watched him play? He is ranked the best prospect in the world not in the NHL. That sounds like a franchise player to me.

Yeah, and the richest KHL team wants him to be one of its main stars just because he's a handsome chap...

well, usually a franchise caliber player is expected to get a PPG his rookie season. People here expect Taras to get approximately 40-45 points.

I personally see Steen and Oshie as 3rd liners more than Perron who fits the classic skilled top six player role. Not that Oshie/Steen don't but those two are better suited to playin gtougher minutes. But the Blues of course are a strange team because it's basically 3 equal lines assuming Stewart picks it up and that centre ends up being good.

I don't expect him to come in and do better than McDonald or Perron thouhg.

This is because Blues fans don't put expectations that are too lofty for a rookie. No matter who the player is, a 50 point season is fantastic for a rookie. This is a guy who scouts were saying would have likely been top 5 if he were Canadian.

Says who?

He's not the best prospect in the world outside the NHL. That would be Kuznetsov followed closely by Granlund. Tarasenko is a great prospect but calling him the best prospect out of the NHL is just plain false.

That would be good, but if Lehtera comes over, he would probably end up being assigned to Peoria... and I don't think he's keen on the idea of playing there.

In your opinion. Tarasenko had a better regular season in the KHL, and a vastly superior postseason, than Kuznetsov.

It's a matter of opinion, just like it's your opinion that Grandlund is better than Tarasenko, which I doubt many agree with.
