These two teams will never trade with each other.

Excellent answer, I can definitely say Sens should turn down this with an ease but people forget how solid Schenn was in previous years before this past one. Anyone giving up on this kid at this age will all regret it later(including majority of Leafs fans), he still has great 2nd pairing potential in the mold of Adam Foote and I wbelieve he will eventually get there in a year or two.

I wouldnt trade Spezza,

I wouldnt mind Schenn. He and Cowen could run the PK in 2 years time.

I just do not think we have anything that the leafs would want for Schenn that we would be willing to part with

The Senators have zero reason to trade Spezza. He's a true #1 center who had a good year and they're hard to find. They wouldn't trade him unless it was for severe overpayment, much less to a division rival for this package. Schenn's not bad but the Senators downgrade at center (by drafting a center likely needing at least a couple more years to make the team). It makes no sense.

The Sens won't trade Spezza unless the offer is too good to pass up. They shouldn't trade him for anything short of an upgrade and a half at other positions. And because it's Toronto, he won't be traded there period. It just won't happen and shouldn't. Ottawa has no reason to do so. Trading Spezza in almost any scenario sets them back and makes them a worse team, now and in the future. They are arguably in the middle of the rebuild still but have remained competitive. The team has a chance to win now, as it showed by making the playoffs this year when most had them ruled out before the season even began.

Amen brother. Its very refreshing to see a non-Sens fan that understands this. Heck, there are a lot of Sens fans that need to read, memorize, learn, live, and breathe this post.

I salute you.
